World Wide (WW) Incentive Plan Leader

Job Description
The WW Incentive Plan Leader will be responsible for working with senior leaders in the business units to understand their incentive plan design requirements. This role requires understanding all facets of IBM incentive plan design. This leader will design, create, and support the implementation of these incentive plans.
  • WW and NA Business Unit (BU) Incentive Plan Leader (IPL) role interfaces with, supports and represents BU incentive plan requirements on all incentive plan design matters for the assigned BU or business area
  • Understand IBM structure, BU coverage model and incentive plan design, including new requirements each plan cycle. Understand and execute according to IBM's incentive plan principles, strategies and guidelines
  • Drive BU incentive plan framework as a member of a team and implement software incentive plan design for assigned BU. Advise and guide the WW BU sales leaders in their incentive plan design and related decisions, to influence the creation of an incentive plan that maps to the WW go to market strategy and growth initiatives.
  • Partner with other BU and geography IPL’s to ensure understanding of WW and geo requirements. This role provides WW and NA IOT level support
  • Drive consistency in plan design for the assigned BU, while collaborating with the unit Sales Management & Transformation Advisor (SMTA) on understanding coverage and BU go to market requirements. Team with Worldwide SMTA/ WW Finance/ WW Sales Leadership regarding incentive plan design, including creation of incentive plans for any new roles during the plan cycles
  • Liaise with BU SMTA & Finance to execute deployment decisions through collaboration on the creation and audit of BU incentive plan measurements. Create incentive plan job role and plan design templates once BU incentive plan measurements are finalized
  • Produce incentive plan design education materials published to Incentives Workplace; Educate others on changes to incentive plans
  • Provide 3rd level support for incentive plan design related inquiries originating with the Incentives CoE when their 1st line of support and engagement of functional support from finance and territory experts still requires more expertise to solve issues
  • May have the opportunity to engage in acquisition integration activity
  • Conduct Incentive plan eligibility assessment
  • Must be able to interact with sales leaders and their support teams with worldwide and or regional / geographic responsibilities;
  • Assist with other requests related to incentive plan design as requested.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Demonstrated teaming within WW Incentives team
  • Experience in or in support of a software sales organization, either in a sales, technical sales, finance, operations or an incentives capacity
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills; Experience and comfort with presenting subject matter material clearly and effectively, via telephone and/or web based mediums, as well as in person
  • Ability to collaborate with a geographically dispersed team across multiple functions and time zones
  • At least 2 years experience and demonstrated effectiveness with interacting with, advising, and influencing senior business leaders
  • At least 2 years experience and demonstrated skills with dealing with complex business issues through project planning, personal execution and team collaboration to drive successful conclusion
  • Proven operational Excel and Powerpoint skills
  • Problem solving skills
