Web Enrollment Technical Lead

About the position

The Enrollment Solutions Center (ESC) is a Group Insurance team offering operational support for Voluntary customer enrollment events. The ESC’s focus is to successfully increase GI’s voluntary participation by providing educational enrollment materials, setting up enrollment sites for customers and their employees and offering administrative support services for customers through their enrollment periods.

The Enrollment Technical Lead will be responsible for completing a varying degree of enrollment activities with little to no supervision. This works includes, but is not limited to managing the ESC pipeline of enrollment activity for web and paper enrollments. Validating, creating, and defining standard operating procedures for the ESC Processors. The position is the primary trainer for ESC team for both paper and web enrollment processes, and will lead monthly coaching sessions with all processors. The Technical Lead will be responsible for working with our various business control partners to identify potential risks and establish controls to mitigate those risks. They will work on system enhancements, process mapping, and many other tasks in support of the business.

The position requires a minimum of 5 years of insurance operation and administration experience.

The position regularly interacts with internal customers, i.e. representatives and business leads in Distribution, Product, Operations, IT, legal, compliance, and risk management. Interactions typically relate to providing solutions and guidance to business leads to make business decisions. The position acts as a SME in terms of both paper and web enrollment processes. The position is given the discretion to make recommendation on behalf of the department. If a change in process or capital expenditure is required, the position must seek management approval at the corresponding level.

The position also interacts with an outside vendor. The position works in partnership with the vendor to define process requirements and oversees process improvements. Any changes that require a capital expenditure require appropriate signing approval from management at the corresponding level.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree or relevant level of experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of insurance operation and administration experience or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience supporting life products and advanced products such as Group Universal and Group Variance Universal Life insurance, preferred.
  • Subject matter expertise of web enrollment administration platforms and supporting processes.
  • Experience performing research and analysis initiatives targeted at determining the scope and root cause of an issue.
  • Experience identifying solutions and presenting recommendations to leadership.
  • Experience creating and preforming system and process user acceptance testing.
