Full Time Posting Job Description Duties: CNN Digital is looking for an enthusiastic, energetic, focused individual to lead key aspects of our digital sales and marketing efforts. The VP, Sales Planning will be responsible for developing and implementing best-in-class media plan practices across the organization, in an effort to solve our advertising partners' business problems. We are looking for a strategic thinker with strong managerial skills who can work collaboratively as a team player along with sales, ad operations, marketing and various functions across the CNN brand. This individual should be an excellent communicator, detail oriented, can thrive in a deadline-driven environment and has a strong understanding of the digital space, online advertising platforms and executions. This is an ideal position for a candidate with extensive digital advertising management experience to grow within an exciting and dynamic organization. This position is based in New York.

Qualifications: - 7-10 years experience in digital media and planning management
- Drive best practices for digital media planning and implement processes throughout the sales planner organization and other key departments (account services, ad operations, marketing, etc.)
- Develop and execute a media planning strategy focused on KPI directed responses
- Become an expert on our ad products including how and when to use them
- Be accountable for pipeline creation, timeliness and accuracy via Salesforce
- Lead quarterly review with sales, marketing, operations and CNN Digital to identify potential opportunities/priorities across portfolio
- Work closely with the digital sales, marketing and editorial teams on the development of compelling sales proposals, media plans, and presentations for growing digital business.
- Experience managing a staff (11 direct reports across CNN & Great Big Story)
- Work closely with ad operations, account management and yield team to ensure programs are executable and deliver in full
- Work with management team to help set digital go-to-market strategy and tactically implement to drive greater revenue via smarter packaging, pricing, and positioning with the marketplace to maximize use of inventory
- Forge strong relationships with sales leadership to communicate and collaborate on strategy
- Serve as an industry expert with a firm handle on the current digital advertising landscape including a strong interest and understanding ad formats and experiences, data/targeting capabilities and emerging technologies
- Responsible for helping drive new revenue opportunities (working with sales, sales strategy, marketing, revenue operations, product, etc.)
- Collaborate on production of online ad sales materials and collateral, incorporating research data where necessary.
- Partner with Research to agree audience metrics/positioning for client negotiations
- Project Manager (Lead) on driving new projects, process improvement, and growth
- Strong operational background; project management experience a plus
