Voice Recognition Engineer

Who we’re looking forToyota Voice Recognition and Digital Assistant team is looking for dynamic and passionate people who have a strong sense of ownership and engineering mindset. As an Voice Recognition Junior Engineer on the Voice Recognition and Digital Assistant team, you will work under the direct supervision of the Principal Engineers, with solution architects, business planners and other groups within different TMNA business units in developing an intuitive and intelligent voice recognition enabled system to drive business values. This position requires customer-focused thinking and the ability to be hands on. We are looking at self-motivated individuals who are highly detail-oriented and take pride in their deliverables. What you’ll be doing
  • Apply your professional knowledge, skills, and training on projects involving voice recognition and NLU technologies.
  • Perform defined work assignments related to the design, development and testing of voice recognition sub-system within the vehicle infotainment system.
  • Providing value-added analysis, research, recommendations, and participation in summarizing research findings into high-quality presentations
  • Interface with suppliers to design and develop VR/NLU solutions, monitor progress and report issues to management.
  • Support current production programs.
  • Work under the guidance of more experienced engineers to communicate technical decisions to non-technical audiences and build consensus around them.

What you bring
  • A bachelor degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Technical or related discipline
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to summarize research findings into high-quality presentations
  • You are self-driven and works well in an interdisciplinary team with minimal direction
  • You are capable of communicating insights and presenting concepts to a diverse audience
  • You are able to apply quantitative analysis techniques to business situations
  • You have a high degree of intellectual curiosity, analytical thinking, energy, and drive to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Added bonus if you have knowledge of:
  • Experience (via undergraduate research or internship) in language modeling for speech recognition systems, building Natural Language Processing (NLP), text-to-speech (TTS), Dialog Management, Automatic Speech Recognition" (ASR), or other deep learning technologies
  • Knowledge of Android speech API, DiaglogFlow, Amazon Lex, and/or similar advanced human–computer interaction technologies
  • MS LUIS or similar Cognitive Services
  • Audio and signal processing algorithms.
  • Recent experience on natural language understanding for human machine interaction system
