Visual Designer

Job Description
We are a high performing & multidisciplinary team working on a new way of telling stories and helping our users, as a part of a larger initiative towards the new IBM digital experience.

We are looking for a curious, inventive, problem solving visual designer to help us make this a reality. Are you not just an out of box thinker, but true out of box thinker?   • Interpret content strategy and narrative into powerful user experience through visual design and design strategy that span layouts, illustration and image use, as well as user interaction.
  • Work hands-on, create interfaces, design patterns, and visual solutions from concept to final code.
  • Work with the Talent Acquisition leadership team to continuously improve design
  • Deliver pixel perfect hi-fidelity designs to enable team in development.
  • Work closely with the IBM Digital Design System team to express IBM values and principles, and contribute back to the design system

Visual Designers are located in IBM Offices in Cambridge, MA.

Must have the ability to work in the US without current/future need for IBM sponsorship.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Bachelor's Degree in Visual Design or equivalent experience in the field
  • Portfolio/work samples at varying fidelity (show your process)
  • At least 3 years’ experience as a designer (Interaction Design, Visual Designer) with responsibilities and skills similar to the list above
  • At least 1 year of experience in Agile, Scrum or Lean
  • Experience working on complex products with multiple user groups
  • Experience with data visualization and high quality diagrams
  • Experience with illustration

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

  • Experience working with distributed teams, with international experience
  • Experience with Agile and Lean approaches
  • Ability to prototype rapidly
