Utilities/Reliability Engineer (1802726) – Kankakee, IL We are looking for a candidate like you to lead and direct the activities to implement all applicable maintenance and reliability standards for inspecting, maintaining, monitoring, and improving the integrity and reliability of plant equipment. This is accomplished by auditing and optimizing our site utility systems, reviewing and implementing the project managers on all critical pieces of equipment, training our craftsmen on how to optimize uptime and performance of this equipment, life cycle asset management of all utility systems, build a sustainable program for the utilities, aligning with the site predictive maintenance program, and partnering with process area owners to ensure equipment reliability.   • You have a demonstrated commitment to employee health and safety, particularly through a commitment to zero injuries, awareness of hazards, and a strong understanding of legislative requirements in all aspects of the operation.
  • Successfully engaging to keep Maintenance leaders and the Plant Leadership Team fully apprised of investments and/or resources required to ensure all utility and mechanical equipment/systems are operating in a fully restored condition are critical to this role.
  • Your extensive knowledge of developing engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect plant operations, quality, and/or safety goal by usage of methodical problem-solving techniques (8D, C4, A3, RCA, etc.) is critical.
  • You will own Utility support- Cooling Towers, chillers & air compressors, HVAC systems, city water, process water, water scrubber systems, water treatment systems, sewer system and fire water systems. Work with Predictive Maintenance assets (internal and external) to eliminate failures that can be predicted utilizing vibration data analysis, infrared thermography, oil analysis, and ultrasonic leak detection equipment.
  • Leveraging your strong educational and professional background in reliability/utility Engineering or a related field, you will read and troubleshoot systems from electrical schematics and bring a strong understanding of Planned Maintenance techniques (RWP, SAP, etc.)
  • Your sound familiarity with instrumentation, electrical, and mechanical equipment will be an asset as you provide technical support to the Maintenance Superintendent, specialist, and craftsmen on challenging equipment repair issues
  • Your ability to make crucial business decisions will be valued as you will identify areas of cost reduction, and prepare preventative Maintenance requirements for new and existing equipment.
  • You will Develop a program to track the usage and cost of all utilities.
  • You will develop and support capital investment strategies as they relate to Utility investments.
