TRS - Data Analytics - Associate

A career in our Tax Reporting and Strategy practice, within Innovation services, will provide you with the opportunity to help our clients’ tax departments redesign, redefine, and redeploy tax to be a strategic asset across the enterprise. You’ll focus on assisting clients incorporate increased automation in the tax reporting process, increase analytic capabilities through data integration, and create solid internal controls that will enable the Tax function to deliver better quality output and contribute more strategically to organisational decision making. Our team helps our clients expand the tax role to include research, analytics, and technologies to improve how their organisation collaborates and performs. You’ll focus on enhancing the tax reporting process by incorporating increased automation, integrating quality data, developing analytic capabilities, and utilising technology to deliver better quality output in less time.

Responsibilities

As an Associate, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Proactively assist the team in various aspects of the project
  • Prepare deliverables
  • Contribute to the development of your own and team’s technical acumen
  • Keep up to date with local and national business and economic issues
  • Ensure you are adhering to compliance matters
  • Work on developing internal relationships and your PwC brand

The Data Automation (DA) practice within Tax Reporting & Strategy (TRS) is comprised of tax and technology professionals who work with our clients to define and implement intelligent technologies such as robotic process automation, machine learning and natural language processing. Our DA practice is focused on deploying technologies that can be implemented in short sprints, to address acute problems, with manageable costs.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills: 

Demonstrates some knowledge and/or a proven record of success in:

  • Understanding underlying client business problems; and,
  • Developing RPA technology-enabled solutions that address the needs of large organizations, including implementing technology solutions to help streamline organizational needs, meet legal-related and industry-specific compliance standards and regulations and leverage hands on experience with the implementation of Robotic and Intelligent Process Automation tools.

Demonstrates some knowledge in data ingestion technologies (Alteryx, Azure Data Factory, Trifacta, SSIS, etc.), data visualization/analytics tools (Tableau, PowerBI, Qlik, etc.) and an interest in furthering that knowledge.

Demonstrates some abilities and/or a proven record of success, as both an individual contributor and team member with identifying and addressing client needs including:

  • Leveraging knowledge of RPA implementations, including strategy design, business case development, governance and risk;
  • Interest in tax technology implementations, including selection of software packages, assessments of processes and data flows, tax systems implementation and configuration and digital tax transformation;
  • Interest in tax-related data analytics;
  • Demonstrated potential in developing and sustaining client relationships, preparing and presenting complex written and verbal materials;
  • Ability to define resource requirements, project workflow, budgets, billing and collection; and,
  • Utilizing effectively written and verbal business communication skills within a professional business services environment, including interacting with clients and firm staff and/or management.
