Wholesale Banking provides financial solutions to businesses across the United States and globally.  Our nine major business lines include Business Banking, Middle Market Banking, Government and Institutional Banking, Corporate Banking, Commercial Real Estate, Financial Institutions Group, Wells Fargo Commercial Capital, Wells Fargo Securities, and the Investment Portfolio. We also have groups in credit risk, group risk, finance, marketing, human relations, and the Wholesale Chief Operating Office that support our businesses.

This position, within the Investment Banking and Capital Markets (IBCM) Business Management Organization, will provide additional support in managing the IBCM Mergers & Acquisitions business on a day-to-day basis.  The individual will be responsible for working with relevant groups to assist with financial reporting, strategic planning, operational support, and client events. 

This position will be responsible for providing strategic consultant service to the client organization, including consulting with senior managers and Team Members to create and execute on business needs.  They will assist the IBCM Business Management Organization in supporting overall business activities of the M&A including:

  • Working closely alongside existing M&A Business Manager with all support functions relevant to operational support and client needs
  • Assist the projects supporting the business, including Technology, Compliance, Legal, Corporate Real Estate, PMO, Business Continuity, Marketing, and Communications.  Prepare ad-hoc analysis, financial modeling, and reporting, as needed
  • Pipeline reporting
  • Coordinating with Finance and other key support areas to assist with financial and other management reporting and analysis
  • Prepare internal presentations for the M&A group head
  • Assist in execution of client events
  • Partner with key parties to execute initiatives including budgeting and strategic planning

This role will be based in New York City.


This position is subject to FINRA Background Screening Requirements, including successful completion and clearing of a background check. Internal transfers are subject to comply with 17 CRF 240.17f-2 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and FINRA Bylaws, Article III, Section 3, which states that Associated Persons should not be subject to statutory disqualification. Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening and are required to report certain incidents.


Team members support our focus on building strong customer relationships balanced with a strong risk mitigating and compliance-driven culture which firmly establishes those disciplines as critical to the success of our customers and company. They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of strategic planning experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge and understanding of financial analysis, accounting, economic, and modeling concepts
  • Ability to develop operational reporting and performing complex data analysis
  • Ability to make timely and independent judgment decisions while working in a fast-paced and results-driven environment
  • Ability to develop partnerships and collaborate with other business and functional areas
  • Exposure to Wells Fargo CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) skills
  • 5+ years of capital markets experience
  • 5+ years of business banking experience

Other Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge and understanding of IBCM platform or internal systems
