The primary function of the Senior Payroll Specialist is to ensure that pay related transactions are timely and accurately entered, balanced and validated in the payroll system, to process and review all employment tax filings and to maintain payroll general ledger accounts. The role reports to the Manager of Payroll Operations and provides payroll services to an organization of 16K+ U.S. based employees.


  • Create and submit Rapid Pay Data Entry (RPDE) payment files to ADP for processing

  • Manual check processing (for final pay, missed overtime, replacement checks, etc.) including managing to audit controls

  • Review time diagnostic reports to mitigate risk for overpayment, identify missing work schedules or invalid time punches and take action to resolve issues

  • Address ACH rejects for direct deposit including employee notification and request checks from ADP for rejected transactions

  • Manage identification, notification and collection of payroll overpayments

  • Facilitate Grandfathered LTD Cost of Living pay and reporting each month

  • Initiate funding to Treasury for payrolls, 401K and tax liabilities

  • Review Positive pay exceptions (fraud protection) with payroll banking institutions daily and provide instruction on settlement

  • Process Stop payments and Direct Deposit reversals

  • Payroll tax withholding account administration with all Federal and State Tax Agencies

  • Verify state taxation for employees

  • Manage and respond to internal and external payroll audits

  • Function as payroll and taxation subject matter expert for projects and testing

  • Partner with all internal stakeholders including benefits, corporate tax, HR Services, HRIS, and Compensation for all internal initiatives and/or issues that have payroll impact



  • 7+ years payroll processes in a high volume, multi-state, and exempt/non-exempt environments

  • 5+ years of U.S. federal, statutory and local tax remittance experience including multi-state payroll laws

  • 3+ years of ADP Enterprise experience


  • Bachelor Degree in Business, Accounting or related HR field

  • CPP Certification

  • Oracle Fusion Time & Labor system experience
