Sr Marketing Manager, Baby GFO NA


The Marketing Manager Baby GFO - North America is a key strategic role within the Global Franchise Organization (GFO). This is a pivotal role at the intersection of the global need state strategy and local brand relevance and implementation. This position reports into the Director of Marketing Baby GFO North America and will be based in Skillman, NJ with considerable time in the New Brunswick, NJ location.

Baby Care is a $16B category globally, and J&J is currently a top manufacturer in the space with strong leadership positions across wipes, skin care, hair care, powder, and rash segments. The portfolio consists of JOHNSON’S®—our global mega-brand in the baby segment—and several regional brands including AVEENO® Baby, DESITIN®, and PENATEN®. Significant upside exists to drive growth on baby by leveraging our full portfolio of brands—from strengthening our leadership as the world’s most iconic baby brand with a reinvention of JOHNSON’S®, to the continued success and global expansion of AVEENO® Baby, DESITIN®, and other regional jewels.

The Marketing Manager will lead the Baby Care innovation strategy development and new product deployment for the Region and will be a critical link to inform the global brand strategic plan development.

Specifically, the Marketing Manager will:

  • Lead the regional strategy, planning, and execution of our global JOHNSON’S® reinvention—our largest commercial launch in J&J Consumer history
  • Shape and deliver regional innovation and commercial strategy & execution for the full portfolio of baby care brands in NA, including the JOHNSON’S megabrand and our regional strongholds with AVEENO Baby, Desitin, and Penaten.
  • Participate in relevant global, regional and local market governance meetings w/ deep understanding & alignment to Region Strategies, Tactics & KPIs.
  • Have close partnership with Commercial Leaders and gain local insight / market intimacy.
  • With the Director, responsible for developing the strategic direction for North America Baby Care to ensure a holistic strategy that is informed by, and informs, the global brand strategy.
  • Conduit of communication between North America Local Market and Global Baby care teams.
    • Represent & Reinforce Global Vision & Strategy for Global Baby care within the Region.
    • Represent and inform Global team of Local Market nuances, needs & competitive environment.
  • Lead Region team to implement new product innovation.
    • Partner w/ region supply chain / PMO to implement regional initiatives.
    • Lead project team for formulation development (based on global chassis, respecting regional regulations and supply chain requirements).
    • Adapt packaging graphics to region/markets.
    • Communicate resource planning needs and help prioritize among giving resources.
    • Manage compliance and transparency projects for the region.
    • Lead innovation with Region Customers in partnership with local marketing and sales strategy.
  • With Director, lead the development and implementation of the growth model for Baby Care for NA.
  • Crystallize regional and local insight to influence global creative and innovation for each brand within the need state in order to drive relevance. He or she will develop transferable success models across countries, transferring learnings and best practices globally in partnership with the Global Franchise Leadership Team.


Qualifications
  • A BA degree is required. Master in business or marketing specialization preferred.
  • A minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in setting a vision and executing in a similar integrated brand leadership role within a consumer packaged goods organization, preferably with a breadth of functional and/or industry experience is required.
  • Experience marketing in a digital world, (i.e., social media, e-commerce, analytics, on-line) is preferred.
  • Experience working in a global organization and collaborating with regional groups is preferred.
  • Demonstrated track record of leadership is required.
  • Experience leading in a matrix environment and cross functional teams is required.
  • Experience in successful partnership with R&D organizations to develop innovative products supported by specific and relevant brand messaging is required.
  • Proven success in developing strategic agency partnerships to build long term brand health and business is required.
  • Demonstrated analytic skills and financial acumen in making effective business decisions is required.
  • Experience in providing marketing thought leadership—taking consumer insight and using it to drive thinking and good decisions, is required.
  • Demonstrated skill in executing and delivering brand leadership in a similar integrated brand leadership role is required.
  • Experience living/working in one market within the region is preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% is required.
