Sr Human Resources Generalist - Spectrum Enterprise

The Highlights

The Sr HR Generalist will report to the human resources program manager and work closely with the human resources group vice president and leadership team to manage a wide variety of projects, processes and activities. By helping to effectively manage team priorities, the person in this role is a key player in moving human resources to high value-add initiatives. This role provides a high degree of visibility to human resources leaders and touches multiple human resources disciplines such as business partner work, recruitment and learning and development.

What You Will Do
  • Manage a wide variety of concurrent projects, processes, and activities
  • Assist with duties such as headcount management and employee data updates
  • Conduct location-based duties for the Stamford, Connecticut, and/or New York City locations, including onboarding employees and answering basic policy and process questions
  • Support projects between Spectrum Enterprise and Charter corporate human resources teams as well as projects that cross multiple human resources disciplines
  • Generate solutions with input from more senior human resources teammates
  • Serve as team point for reporting requests and data validation exercises
  • Assist in the annual budget planning process
  • Effectively communicate and execute necessary changes to policies and procedures
  • Assure company policies are administered fairly and consistently throughout area of responsibility
  • Provide guidance to management and employees on human resources issues and employment law
  • Promote human resources employee development
  • Manage employee recognition programs
  • Develop new programs and initiatives to meet management needs
  • Perform advanced employee relations functions including support and counseling regarding personnel and job related conflicts, problem solving and dispute resolution, managing employee performance issues and review and assessment of termination requests
  • Conduct complex/sensitive employee-related investigations
  • Ensure timely and accurate entries into the HRIS database
  • Maintain employee records in compliance with state and federal requirements
  • Assist in managing and executing bonus plans, merit processes and routine/special request reports
  • Coordinate administration of all Leave of Absence programs and processes, including transitional work and accommodations
  • Carry out other duties as needed

Required Keys for Success
  • Five or more years of relevant human resources experience
  • Experience creating dashboards and other reporting vehicles
  • Experience using data to conduct trend analysis and draw business-focused conclusions
  • High degree of personal accountability and ability to work independently and in a matrixed environment
  • Superior maturity and interpersonal skills
  • Maintain confidentiality of information
  • Make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure
  • Strong project management skills, prioritizing and organizing effectively
  • Strong consultative and coaching skills
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Effective communication skills with all levels of management and employees

How You Will Stand Out from the Crowd
  • Experience in a large company with a strategic approach to human resources
  • Knowledge of human resources industry trends and technologies
  • Knowledge of local, state and federal employment, wage, and employee relations laws and procedures
  • Understanding of or experience in the telecommunications industry

Your education
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business or related field required
  • Master’s degree (preferred)
  • Certifications for human resource professionals such as PHR, SPHR (preferred)
