Job Summary:

The Senior Financial Analyst / Associate Manager plays a key role in the quarterly consolidation of financial statements, analysis of Equity accounts and the preparation of internal statement of Cash Flows. Works closely with the Treasury Department to ensure appropriate accounting for: derivatives, external debt, intercompany loans, interest rate swaps, etc.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Treasury Accounting:

Responsible for the preparation of:

  • Analysis of Interest Expense & Income, as well as Interest Accrual & Prepaid Interest.
  • Account reconciliations for all Debt related GL (General Ledger) accounts
  • Hedge Management Report – assess reasonability and analyze the impact of hedging instruments in the financial statements
  • Co-lead quarterly meeting with Treasury Department & Senior Management
  • Track Intercompany Loans and prepare journal entries when necessary

 

 

Equity Reconciliation:

  • Analyze and prepare account reconciliations for all Equity accounts including:
  • Capital Surplus
  • Equity Transfers
  • Capital Stock
  • Pension
  • Equity Compensation
  • Cumulative Translation Adjustment
  • Prepare Equity worldwide roll-forward

 

 

Cash Flow Statements:

  • Prepare and analyze quarterly internal Cash Flow statement and respective addendum schedules.
  • Prepare cash flow strip outs for Corporate
  • Ensure accuracy of the roll up of the Consolidated Cash Flow

 

Taxes & Other Analysis:

  • Analyze and prepare account reconciliations for all Tax accounts including: Real State Taxes, Deferred Taxes, Personal Property Taxes, Federal Taxes, etc.
  • Analyze and prepare account reconciliations for: Executive Incentive Compensation Plan (EICP) Bonus Accruals, Director’s Fees, Audit Fees, Donations & Charitable Contributions, Deferred Compensation and other related accounts.

 

Annual Budget & Estimates: 

  • Assist in the preparation of Annual Budget and Latest Estimates
  • Validate Interest Expense projection – collaborating with the Treasury Department
  • Prepare projections for all accounts under his/her responsibility including Equity, Taxes, EICP, etc.
  • Collaborate in the preparation of the Internal Cash Flow Statement including Corporate Strip Outs
  • Collaborate in the preparation of schedules for the Finance Executive Book (Blue Book)

 

Other Finance Functions:

  • Review of Bank Reconciliations prepared by Global CBS (Colgate Business Services) for aging and/or unusual items
  • Review of Non Variable Reports for reasonability
  • Participate in Special Projects involving Corporate Tax and/ or Treasury

 

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting required
  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or MBA preferred
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in finance
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles
  • SAP knowledge preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills required
