This role is on the Brand Management Team, which sits within TIAA Enterprise Brand and Advertising and reports to the VP of Brand Management. The Brand Management Team is responsible for ensuring a consistent brand look, feel, voice, and tone across all communication and distribution channels. The broad scope of communication and distribution channels includes digital, print, social media, video, advertising, and live events, reaching participants, plan sponsors, TPAs, asset managers, prospects and employees. The Brand Management Team accomplishes this in part by establishing and communicating brand guidelines, brand education and training, managing brand assets, conducting brand reviews and overseeing trademark and brand protection.

We are seeking a senior leader to be a passionate advocate for the TIAA brand; responsible for driving brand consistency across all channels and building a brand culture within the organization. This person will partner with key stakeholders and leaders across marketing, communications, UX, IFS, RFS, Digital and other areas of the organization to ensure brand consistency and meet evolving business and marketing brand needs.

This person's primary responsibility will be to oversee the brand review process, make decisions about the brand and ensure adherence to our brand standards. They will work closely with key internal stakeholders as well as external agencies to help create consistency across customer, product and media channels.

This person will also develop and deliver brand training to internal and external stakeholders and agency partners. Brand trainings can range from facilitating informal one-to-one sessions to broader sharing of information with large audiences.

This person will also be responsible for driving changes to brand guidelines, templates and assets to address the evolving needs of our business partners as well as the dynamically changing media environment, particularly in digital.


  • Partner closely with Marketing Operations including producers, creative designers, and writers, as well as the Communications team, UX, product managers, agency partners and other key stakeholders to translate our brand voice, tone, look and feel into effective digital and offline communications

  • Lead brand review process:

    • Make judgements and decisions related to brand standards

    • Partner closely with SMEs on daily brand reviews

    • Lead face-to-face discussions with key stakeholders on complex brand challenges

    • Ensure timely review of new marketing and communication pieces for brand alignment (print, digital, video, social).

    • Oversee quarterly reporting measuring brand compliance

    • Develop and conduct brand training in partnership with internal learning experts to ensure internal stakeholders and external agency partners are trained and knowledgeable on brand requirements.

    • Lead projects, to develop brand guidelines, templates and brand assets



  • BA degree required

  • 10 years of Marketing experience

  • Brand and Digital Marketing experience


  • In-house/corporate Marketing/Creative Services; background in brand or creative execution role; financial services brand experience preferred; Content/writing expertise/experience; editorial experience; Facilitation skillset/experience training others

  • Strong design, content development, and editorial skillset and experience

  • Strong digital brand experience (video, digital, social, native content)

  • Experience conducting brand review of collateral and assets across various media channels

  • Experience creating and delivering brand education

  • Experience developing and implementing brand guidelines

  • Project and Agency/Vendor Management experience

  • History of building relationships with business partners

  • Ability to advocate for brand standards

  • Understanding of Web design and development

  • Experience working with creative on development of brand collateral

  • Experience leading the development and maintenance of brand assets (photography, iconography, illustrations, video, graphical animation)

  • Background in marketing and/or communications

  • Strong ability to influence

  • Able to manage multiple high priority tasks or projects at a single time

  • UX design experience
