The Desktop Engineer focuses on endpoint management in an enterprise environment.  Collaborates with peers and other teams to oversee and maintain multiple endpoint management infrastructure suites.  Focuses on endpoint software delivery, patching, compliance and inventory controls.  Provides ad-hoc resources for projects or various business challenges.  Looks for opportunities to enhance or improve end user experience.    

Job Duties

  • Lead small to medium size technology design in support of global desktop management.
  • Applies IT and business knowledge with experience/research to design an IT solution for a business/client
  • problem.
  • Acts as a liaison between IT and various business/client areas in support of global desktop management
  • technology design.
  • May assist working with senior analyst or team lead in larger scale more complex technology designs
  • Oversees and maintains our Symantec Management Platform implementation.
  • Provides secondary support for Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager.
  • Strategically and proactively implements system and process improvements that increase overall productivity for end users.
  • Provides reporting/metrics as needed.
  • Provides on-call support as part of rotating team coverage.
  • Follows applicable change management and quality control processes.
  • Documents processes and procedures as needed.
  • Ensures best practices regarding security while focusing on a positive end user experience.
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Keeps team and management informed about important activities through status reporting.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent 5+ years of industry work experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write and maintain advanced scripts using modern languages like PowerShell.
  • Excellent analytical, presentation, and organizational skills and the ability to meet multiple deadlines and work independently.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of SQL.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel on occasion (~ 10% of time).
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate with international teams.
