Sr Corp Bus Continuity Consultant

POSITION SUMMARY:

Faces off to one or more Business Area Business Continuity Leaders and provides consultation and guidance to business/support area business continuity resources in the development, maturation and ongoing sustainability of the Corporate Business Continuity program, including: program administration, governance and oversight of business continuity related risk assessments, business impact analyses, business continuity plans and business continuity testing. Participates in the Manager On Duty rotation to facilitate enterprise crisis response activities including monitoring for business disruption threats. Analyzes threats for crisis event impacts across the company and activates regional/corporate response teams as needed for regional and/or enterprise level disruptions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Working independently and under limited supervision, provides consultation, governance and oversight of business continuity and crisis management deliverables across multiple business areas.

Provides consultation to business area business continuity resources on how to develop, document and execute:


*Effective response and recovery plans.
*Facilitation of crisis response during an event lifecycle.


Develops and delivers training to business/support area business continuity resources relating to TIAA's Business Continuity and Crisis Management Programs.


Provides guidance in the identification, budgeting and implementation of recovery strategies needed to close Business Continuity and Crisis Management gaps.


Under direction from the CBC Leader, develops, documents publishes and socializes standard operation procedures and job aids, as well as key risk, control, and performance metrics and reporting on Business Continuity and Crisis Management activities to key stakeholders.


Provides and implements process improvement recommendations for Business Continuity and Crisis Management programs.

QUALIFICATIONS:


Required Skills, Degree(s), Certification(s) and/or License(s):

  • Business Continuity certification
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Business Continuity certification
  • 7+ years of Business Continuity experience with proficient knowledge of business continuity and crisis management principals
  • Experienced in event response/ recovery
  • Project Management expertise
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and obtain buy-in of program objectives and strategy, without having direct reporting authority

Desired Skills, Degree(s), Certification(s) and/or License(s):

  • CBCP Certification
  • Client interface to business for business continuity activities such as testing, BIA and business continuity plan development
  • Experience with Business Continuity tools; preferred: Archer
  • Ability to work independently across a number of business/support areas and locations to provide direction and governance in the execution of the Corporate Business Continuity and Enterprise Crisis Management Programs.
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Must have excellent oral presentation skills for large and small audiences.
  • Must have excellent writing skills.
