The Sr, Business Analyst works as a liaison among IT and Operations stakeholders in order to understand the structure, policies and operations of an organization and recommend solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals. Key objectives include the accurate translation of business needs into requirement that are understood by all stakeholders and the achieve consensus across stakeholders by driving clarity around needs, findings, gaps and mitigation measures.

Candidate will be expected to work on both Agile and Waterfall project methodologies.Business areas supported include: Portfolio Accounting, Data Management, Performance Reporting, Trade Operations, Corporate Actions, Reconciliation, and Collateral ManagementAsset classes supported include: Fixed Income, Equities and Derivatives based on Multi boutique Affiliate model.


Major Responsibilities:


  • Elicit and document business requirements, risks and priorities to establish a clear understanding of the stakeholders' environment in support of solution development
  • Ensure the traceability of individual requirements and adherence to the defined requirements
  • Research other internal / external approaches to solution design for similar business needs / requirements
  • Analyze/interpret business requirements and perform current/target/gap/impact analyses
  • Articulate business needs, gaps, impact across all areas and proposals to close gaps
  • Validate that the proposed/designed solution(s) and associated testing approach will support meeting the articulated business requirements
  • Prepare documents such as expected benefits, gap analysis, use cases, models, current and proposed process, workflows, data flows, implementation plans and end user guides in accordance with standards and methodologies
  • Investigate, evaluate and support prioritization of client requests for new or existing solutions
  • Challenge assumptions made by either the business and IT
  • Perform feasibility analysis, scope projects and recommend alternative solutions, project strategy and deliverable prioritization.


  • Contribute to preparation of project reviews and executive reporting, and developing Program-level presentations to senior management and project sponsors
  • Estimate and forecast project costs based on the matrix based organization structure
  • Achieve consensus on scope changes and achieve signoff by all stakeholders


Repuired Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year university. BS / BA in Computer Science, Mathematical Finance, Engineering, Accounting, Math or related technical area
  • Master degree in Finance, Mathematical Finance or Computer Science would be a big plus
  • 8-10 years of Buy/Sell side experience working at Hedge Fund, Investment Manager or Insurance Company
  • Working knowledge of supporting trade processing to support the Credit, Currency, Interest Rate, Equity, Commodity and Listed Derivatives in Eagle STAR
  • Working knowledge of supporting middle and back office functions: portfolio accounting, performance, cash management, trade confirmation, trade processing & settlement, collateral management and payment processes.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and conceptual skills
  • Self-directed, self-starter, and motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to lead and manage detailed analysis work independently

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks

Preferred Skills:

  • Excellent communication ( written and oral), with senior leaders and peers, facilitation, interpersonal and collaborative skills
  • Ability to be flexible and adjust to various Middle Office and Back Office Operations Managers
  • Ability to perform tasks of high complexity and to modify processes, plans and designs as needed
  • Hands on experience with Eagle STAR, Eagle PACE, Accounting Center, Pricing Center, Performance Center, Reference Data Center, Eagle Data mart and Master Data Management
  • Hands on experience working with trade processing from a full lifecycle perspective coupled with knowledge of various asset classes such as Fixed Income, Equities and Derivatives.
