Sr Actuarial Associate (Annuities Assumptions and Analytics Team)

About the position Actuary/ZP0033

The individual will be an integral part of the Annuities Assumption and Analytics team within the Annuities Actuarial which is responsible for providing insights on policy holder behavior, developing assumptions for annual assumption update. Some key aspects of the individual's role will include maintaining and improving the database used for Analytics and Assumption Development, researching and obtaining additional data needed for Analytics projects.

The individual’s responsibilities may include:

  • Maintain monthly/quarterly data updates used in developing insight into policy holder behavior.
  • Enhance current monthly/quarterly data update process
  • Develop assumption for annual assumption update
  • Prepare and present results and analysis to Annuities Senior Leaders
  • Work closely with Annuities Product Management, Pricing, Finance and Corporate Actuarial Oversight-Assumption on assumption/insights related deliverables
  • Work closely with Actuarial Modeling team and IT area to ensure timely update of assumption used in modeling.

•Bachelor degree or higher

•Must have minimum 2 years of experience with either MySQL, MSSQL or any other SQL database

•Advance knowledge of database structure and theory

•Familiarity with reporting tools (i.e. Tableau)

•Actuarial exam progression a strong plus

•Some experience in annuities is a plus

•Must be highly motivated, well organized, and detail oriented

•Ability to work on multiple projects and help resolve conflicting priorities

•Strong verbal and documentation skills

•Ability to communicate actuarial results to non-actuaries

•Flexible to meet deliverables

•Strong technical skills (MS Excel, MS Access, etc.)

•Programming Experience in any computer language is preferred (e.g. Visual Basic, C++, etc.)
