In this role, the individual must own quality requirements for all Human Nutrition to ensure that customers' quality needs are met by supporting their quality requirements for our products and projects. Provide and lead the regional (U.S. and Canada) Quality interface for the entire Human Nutrition product line, while supplying Global Quality interface and support for regionally originating products. This individual will own the quality documents using global Lotus Notes and web-based data bases. In addition, the ideal candidate will interact with customers, marketing, product management, sales, and production to address, answer, and support the customer-centric Human Nutrition strategy. Lastly, s/he will serve as the Regional Human Nutrition corporate quality representative on the Global Quality & Regulatory team.
Senior Quality Management Specialist (1801750) – Florham Park, NJ Formula for Success: You Will…
  • Serve as the Global Quality subject matter expert for FDA's Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA).
  • Drive FSMA compliance globally with all Human Nutrition (EN) production sites, suppliers, and contract manufacturers.
  • Participate in EN Projects and initiatives to drive sustainable solutions.
  • Participate in various trade associations pertaining to quality for Food/Feed.
  • Effectively manage continuous improvement of customer-related documents utilizing One-Pi, World Account, and other BASF systems to reduce the repeat requests of similar information.
  • Own and manage the customer questionnaire process and drive to reduce the response time and number of repeat questionnaires.
  • Approve or create Product Statements (e.g., allergens, non-GMO, ingredients).
  • Manage the approval process for Customer Quality Agreements, Supplier Expectation Manuals, customer specifications, and label contents.
  • Address all quality product-related questions from internal (Sales, Customer Service, Product Management) and external customers.
  • Drive to reduce the number of BASF’s non-conformance management (NCM) or customer complaints, and provide written response for each product quality NCM.
  • Own all product registrations and product approval support for domestic production.
  • Manage and represent audits at BASF production and contract manufacturing sites.
  • Support NAFTA and other free trade certificates as requested by customers.

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree a plus.
  • Experience in a Quality, Food Technology, Feed, Science, or Nutrition.
  • Prior background in Quality within the Nutrition and Dietary Ingredients industry is preferred.
  • Must be able to travel up to 25%
  • Clear and effective communication skills, as well as solid presentation skills, to effectively influence, educate, and help sell the BASF portfolio.
  • Relationship management skills as the candidate will partner, engage, and communicate with customers at all levels, and will participate in customer business development calls.
  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate extensive in-depth understanding of scientific products, and remaining customer-focused.
