Senior Program Manager, Planning Excellence

Planning is one of the critical foundational pillars identified by J&J Supply Chain strategy that is essential to building the world’s best supply chain. Planning forms a pivotal role in the synchronization of our E2E Supply Chain to meet our customer demands efficiently and effectively as well as improving our cashflow through optimizing our working Capital. At the same time we need to ensure that we are anticipating the future trends and disrupters and building capabilities to leverage and take advantage of these being agile enough to ensure we adapt and use this as a competitive advantage.
The Enterprise Plan Excellence team sits within the broader Strategy & Deployment organization and will work closely with Product Supply, Value Chain and the Digital team. The Plan Excellence team is responsible for setting the strategic direction of J&J Enterprise Planning, developing capabilities (People, Process, Technology, Metrics) and ensuring effective deployment of these within the segments to drive competitive advantage and improve efficiency, effectiveness, optimizing working capital whilst keeping our customers’ needs central to what we do. The team will also be focused on new advanced capabilities as well as leading cultural change to embed Integrated Business Planning throughout the enterprise. This team will work hand in hand with the various segment planning leaders.
As the Senior Program Manager you will be responsible for critical elements of the Enterprise Plan Excellence team and is a key enabler to unlock and deliver the enterprise outcomes. Working closely with Segment Planning, as well as S&D teams, you will be responsible for driving the Plan Pillar`s maturity through Capability building and accelerating the advancement of Demand Planning to deliver critical Plan outcomes in overall Supply Chain results.
Your core responsibilities will be:
  • Providing support for the timely, efficient execution of Enterprise Planning initiatives across the businesses. This includes:
  • Working directly with segment resources to ensure alignment of critical programs with the global Plan vision and strategy ensuring value creation across all initiatives
  • Developing strategies/guiding principles and creating content to move J&J’s Demand Planning capability up the maturity curve
  • Collecting and reporting of performance objectives / metrics across the segments
  • Having a deep understanding for segment planning needs and defining with Plan leaders current and future planning capability needs.
  • Focusing on both implementing improvements to current demand planning processes, while identifying advanced techniques for demand planning, such as demand sensing
  • Ensuring outside thinking and bench-marking with ongoing external perspectives to further shape the future of demand planning and drive continuous improvement and alignment to SC planning best practices.
  • Supporting all project management activities in alignment with the Global Plan Excellence and Office of Strategy & Deployment PMO requirements.

Qualifications
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required
  • 8+ years of related Supply Chain experience with a minimum of 4 years of Supply Chain Planning experience is required
  • People management/supervisory experience is preferred
  • Strong background / experience in Supply Chain Planning processes and systems
  • Experience in 3 core capability areas of Planning- Demand Planning, E2E Planning, Supply Network Planning, Production Planning, Inventory Management and S&OP.
  • Experience in multiple industries or sectors of a business is preferred
  • Experience in Planning processes required. Experience in advanced planning systems/technologies preferred
  • Understanding of Planning processes and supporting technologies in other industries.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Strength in interdependent partnering and influencing; excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Clear understanding of external Supply Chain trends and emerging best practices
  • Experience in executing significant process improvement initiatives within Supply Chain functions.
  • Past project management experience with a track record of success
  • This position may require up to 25% travel
