Senior Professional, Accounting

Overview

• Member of the revenue accounting team in the Corporate Controller’s group. The revenue accounting team serves as the subject matter expert for the accounting for revenue recognition and rebates and incentives and related global processes.

Role

• Review quarterly customer and merchant business agreement incentive accruals and reconciliations
• Monitor customer and merchant agreements for compliance with MasterCard’s policies and related accounting literature by reviewing the accounting summaries prepared by the regional accounting teams for new agreements
• Ensure consistency of accounting treatment across all regions
• Providing training and technical accounting guidance to regional and business unit finance on revenue recognition and rebates and incentives
• Assist in monitoring the impact of the new revenue recognition accounting standard by reviewing the calculated impact across the company’s regions and verticals
• Perform quarterly analytics and reporting
• Assist with financial reporting including the review and preparation of financial statement disclosures for Forms 10-K and 10Q
• Provide support on special projects and process improvements initiatives
Support relationship with external and internal auditors and assist with requests

All About You

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and designation as Certified Public Accountant
• Experience in financial reporting and accounting
• Good working knowledge of accounting practices
• Experience analyzing, interpreting, and summarizing financial data
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Able to collaborate with different individuals across the organization
• Self-motivated with ability to work under pressure and meet project deliverables
• Team player who works well cross-functionally
• Proficient PC skills, especially Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); Oracle and Hyperion Smartview, a plus
