Senior Manager - Talent Acquisition


Cox Enterprises is seeking a Senior Manager, Talent Acquisition Cox Automotive Sales who will drive a best-in-class function by collaborating with hiring leaders to develop flexible TA strategies aligning with business needs and effectively addressing business unit growth.  As a leader and mentor within CTA, the Senior Manager Talent Acquisition is also responsible for the professional development of individual team members and the successful operation of the team as whole.

The Senior Manager of Talent Acquisition Cox Automotive Sales will lead a team of 7 recruiters. They will support inside and outside sales for our Retail, Media, and Client Success businesses.  The TA Manager will manage their own team, but also own the strategic account relationship for this business and serve as the point person, working across their own team, sourcing team, outsource provider teams, and executive recruiting teams to provide comprehensive recruiting services for the business.

Duties and responsibilities


Serve as a trusted business partner to hiring leaders by developing talent acquisition plans and solutions to achieve short-term talent needs and long-term business growth:

• Drive workforce planning strategies by proactively consulting on industry, market, and business unit specific factors impacting the planned TA vision/outlook

• Counsel hiring leaders on innovative recruiting practices and effective talent planning decisions as their day-to-day TA subject matter expert

• Balance the customization of individual TA solutions with the alignment of divisional TA vision and the adherence to consistent CTA practices

• Develop and employ effective communication mechanisms/routines designed to fortify client partnerships and maximize information exchange

• Collaborate with HR on relevant talent management practices (e.g., new hire requirements, compensation) and compliance requirements to ensure TA plans are aligned accordingly

• Collaborate with Diversity & Inclusion to ensure diversity strategies are embedded and executed per plan.


Serve as a member of the CTA leadership team by role modeling the vision of the team, the values of the company, and the focus on CTA’s best-in-class status:

• Act as a day-to-day liaison between assigned Cox division and CTA to ensure continuous alignment between business needs and TA strategies

• Coach, mentor, and lead direct reports through developmental plans tailored to each individual and developmental strategies aligned to overall team growth and engagement

• Partner with colleagues across CTA (e.g., peers, Requisition Delivery, COE) to gather internal (e.g., new service offerings, CTA performance feedback) and external intelligence (e.g., market analysis) to ensure client playbooks stay fresh and relevant

• Drive the on-going development of CTA’s own talent plans and the overall execution of performance metrics to maximize the team’s effectiveness for service delivery and adaptability to changing business needs

• Drive operational improvements and team engagement through transparency, ownership, and collaboration

• Network with industry and professional organizations to stay abreast of trending and best practices.



• Minimum of eight (8) years’ professional work experience

• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a recruiting position, managing a recruiting desk/supporting full-life cycle recruiting in a corporate or staffing environment required

• Minimum of three (3) years managing a high functioning recruiting team of two or more

• Minimum of three (3) years managing recruiting for multiple business functions including but not limited to technology, sales, digital media, HR, Finance

• Proven experience managing multiple client groups

• Proven experience supporting the recruitment of hard-to-fill positions is a must

• Must have experience managing a full life-cycle recruiting desk

• Proven experience training or mentoring others within a Recruiting Team

• Must have successful experience managing critical, high-touch customers through the recruiting process, identifying critical areas of talent gap within their teams, and educating them on market dynamics that may impact their ability to draw high demand talent

• Experience managing hard-to-fill, technical, or niche jobs required

• Experience presenting and partnering with senior executives is important

• Success experience developing and managing relationships with internal customer groups

• Knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to recruitment (FLSA, OFCCP, etc.)

• Proven strong customer service skills.



• BS/BA degree in related discipline strongly desired

• PHR or SPHR certification a plus

• Experience managing the recruitment of senior/executive level roles desired

• Prior experience in media, digital advertising.
