Senior Manager, Marketing


Description

The primary role of the Senior Marketing Manager is to focus on the transaction and finance management cycle/phase across products for dealers.  Specifically, this individual will lead a small team where the product marketers and marketers within this team will focus on the Dealertrack F&I businesses for dealersThis individual is responsible to provide the plan and direction on how we can better entice our customers (dealerships, partners) to consider and engage (drive lead generation and conversions to monthly recurring revenue (MRR) meaning to get them to choose our products).  This individual will then lead the team for the go-to-market strategy and execution of marketing campaigns that will reach the target audience for the Dealertrack F&I Classic and Dealertrack uniFI platforms and upsell of products on that platform.  The goal is to inspire an increase in sales revenue and market share.  


Under this individual’s leadership this small team will:

  • Get the products ready to sell via marketing and sales campaigns/ programs (Account Based Strategy Marketing, Pulsed in/out Campaign Marketing, Referral programs (where possible) and More
  • Partner engagement and marketing/support programs for our vast partner network
  • Help to secure a better sales/sales ops/marketing process
  • Sales enablement tools and other training support focused on growing revenue and increasing market share in accordance with corporate goals.

The role will also work across Cox Automotive companies to identify and capitalize on opportunities to broaden and increase results. 


Specific Responsiblities

  • Provide vision to direct report(s) and lead them on strategic marketing direction, for finance & transaction management for Dealertrack Classic, Dealertrack uniFI, Digital Contracting and more.  Help drive a shift in showcasing marketing as a leader in business strategy by:  
    • Get ahead of product on recommended strategies for growing the business and garnering increased awareness, leads leading to revenue.  Use your innate business insight and knowledge to showcase what’s a concern / opportunity in the business and how we recommend we go after it. 
      • Identify go to market plans for lead generation.  Partner with other members of the team to focus on utilization and retention/loyalty
      • Identify a recommended growth plan for varying segments of dealers. 
      • Identify integration opportunities and a recommended plan for attacking those opportunities
      • Know the market landscape including partners and identify co-business and marketing plans to achieve new heights of awareness, engagement, revenue and loyalty.  Guide your team to leverage these components within what they are executing.  
    • Coach and lead direct report(s) to understand current sales and continually update the team.  Know the marketplace and market intelligence by conducting business analytics, competitive business & marketing assessments, segmentation, and execution assessment and recommendations. Make recommendations on areas of focus ensuring BU and sales alignment and buy-off. Guide direct report(s)  on
      • How to crush the competition  - guide on what we can do
      • How to Identify market opportunities, &, product segmentation, oppt’y assessment/whitespace analysis and create marketing that will address / impact those opportunities. 
      • Based on market understanding recommend bundling and pricing strategies and marketing plans that will allow us to win in places we aren’t winning.  Don’t leave it to sales and sales operations to come forward with these. 
      • How to conduct gap analysis on product features and capabilities and identify customer problems.  Be clear how we could solve via product and via marketing plans
  • Mentor, lead and guide the team for new & existing audiences working to achieve corporate goals while simplifying the execution and ensuring it is impactful.  Know when and where to be agile without breaking direct report(s)’ capacity.  Guide direct(s) on telling a story around the business, the marketplace, and be clear internally on how marketing is helping to win.  Communicate effectively and smoothly to relevant leaders from other functions.  Be clear on the goals relative to the BU and be clear on the campaigns, programs we are delivering to achieve those results. 
    • Lead direct report(s) to generate strong demand generation / momentum ahead of new campaigns & product launches and releases.  
    • Lead the development of bi-annual / quarterly comprehensive marketing plans on how you will drive impactful business results (plans to include but not limited to: goals, strategies, tactics, phased campaign components, and more).  Socialize, gain input and buy-off across BU teams and within marketing.  Communicate to sales and product development/engineering well in advance of each quarters new campaigns/programs
  • Be compelling!  Own communication internally and externally for all aspects of your business. 
    • Remove obstacles for the team
    • Manage and own product marketing calendar and timelines bringing all the pieces for dealer and lender together
    • Key liaison to the product team, building relationships and partnerships to ensure optimal go to market approach.  If it is not, then identify a revised strategy and move up and down the chain to gain buy-in.  Escalate when needed. 
    • You will be asked to provide simplified, visual/impactful summary of business status and quarterly marketing plans and results. 
  • Lead team to think end-to-end marketing in how they prepare campaigns and communications to develop content to educate dealers on new products, expand understanding of existing products , and utilize
    • Be a “challenger” advocate and lead in everything you do
    • Guide the team to deliver marketing and sales and training enablement assets (data sheets, battlecards, 1 pagers, web assets, ads, online gamification, “buddy” emails, and more) for all phases of the marketing and sales lifecycle utilizing the foundational value prop and messaging created. 
  • Manage/own your business.  Know where you stand! 
    • Manage and own your budget achieving within +/-2% to budget/target. Understand return on marketing investment (ROMI) for what has been/will be implemented.  Know when to get more money for greater impact when needed and sell it! 
    • Own business analysis/reporting rollup at Sr levels according to the teams / leads rhythm of business (Weekly Updates, Mthly Review/Update/MBR’s, etc)
    • Own the creation and development of “correction of error” (C.O.E.) plans based on monthly business status  


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required.  Master's Degree in business preferred.
  • 12+ years’ experience in B2B marketing required.
  • Must possess the desire to keep up with best-practices and market trends outside of workday

  • Excellent time management and project prioritization skills and ability to prioritize the team.  
  • Resourceful and enthusiastic self-starter who is able to lead marketing strategy and execution in a fast-paced environment, work with a wide range of stakeholders and drive projects forward from start to finish.
  • You are a positive person and a people manager, able to work in an effective manner both collaboratively and works well independently.
  • Strong communicator and strong relationship building skills - Excellent writing skills able to develop effective messaging for a variety of communication vehicles and sideways, up and down to keep all cylinders going!  Ability to negotiate and resolve issues/obstacles that arise for the business and for your team members. You are extremely professional in your demeanor with the ability to influence others.
  • Critical thinker who solves problems logically.  Ability to remove uncertainty’s and shield employees from confusion and lead your employees in a consistent direction.  

  • A proven track record in successful strategic vision/planning and execution by proactively pushing new and innovative marketing.  Proven history of creating effective multi-faceted marketing programs and providing clear/crisp and simple guidance for direct reports to adjust if needed.  Experience working with or supporting sales and marketing initiatives.
  • Proven results in lead generation and developing collateral for complete product life cycle.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage and track budgets
  • Positive and consistent customer service orientation with professional interpersonal skills for a spectrum of stakeholders included C-Suite members

  • You represent the company brand well and help others to do the same.  Strong verbal and written communication skills a must.  Strong presentation and communication skills.
High levels of tact and diplomacy

  • You are confident when presenting to large groups
