Johnson & Johnson Customer & Logistics Services (CLS) is a global Supply Chain organization that supports operating units across all of the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies. CLS strives to deliver an extraordinary customer experience through leading critical customer facing-functions such as distribution and transportation. In addition, CLS oversees critical business enablers, including how we gather and handle supply chain master data, safe and secure supply chain practices, product identification standards, and market/channel access capabilities. CLS supports all three sectors of J&J: Medical Device & Diagnostics, Pharmaceutical, and Consumer Products. As the Senior Manager, Distribution Operations, you will:• Lead a team of employees, manage multiple stock keeping units (SKUs) and systems across dynamic business areas.• Support the development of Supervisors and Associates through clearly communicated performance objectives, business process trainings, career development planning and consistent feedback.• Identify and deliver improvements to safety, quality, accuracy, productivity, cost savings and other key programs.• Develop and manage relationships with Supply Chain and Operating Company partners as well as vendors and customers. • Functionally lead the organization, planning and delivery of shipping activities and receiving activities. • Ensure optimal space utilization, strategic capacity planning, material availability, timely distribution and customer satisfaction.• Benchmark industry practices and implement improvements, as well as, lead or support company and logistics center programs, projects, and initiatives.• Develop and implement distribution policies, standards, guidelines, technology and procedures.• Interface with transportation and the franchises to ensure smooth and consistent receipt and/shipment processes.• Regularly communicating in all directions including associates, peers, management and partners. This includes engaging with other teams in resolution of Information Technology issues to avoid lost productivity. • Develop/administer a targeted business plan and monitor the expenditure of department's budget allocations.• Approve all purchase orders and service agreements within authorized limits.
• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required. Master’s or higher degree is preferred. • Project Management, Continuous Improvement or Supply Chain certifications (i.e. APICS, PMI PMP, FPX, Lean or Six Sigma) are preferred. • A minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience is required. • Experience in distribution, operations, manufacturing, supply chain, or logistics is preferred. • Experience in a regulated environment is required. • Experience in the Pharmaceutical or Medical Device industry is helpful.• People management experience is required. • Cross-sector knowledge and experience is helpful. • Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives is preferred.• Strong technical and analytical skills are required. • Computer-literate in the use of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) is required. • Knowledge or experience with ERP or Warehouse Management Systems is preferred. • This position will be based in Somerset, NJ and requires up to fifteen percent (15%) of domestic and international travel.
