Your tasks and responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of this role, Senior Manager,
Data Management & Sales Analytics, are to:
- Develop a center of excellence around sales
analytics;
- Lead analytics to identify opportunities around the sales
controllables (distribution, promotion, placement and
pricing);
- Develop a common approach to analysis across
categories;
- Ensure a category view to identify learnings both from
Bayer brands and competition;
- Develop and maintain relevant content knowledge and
experience of use in analyses and subsequent operational
follow-up;
- Prioritize workload across categories;
- Provide actionable recommendations with value
associated;
- Build organization expertise in modeling and predictive
analysis to ensure that Bayer Consumer Health’s (BCH) tools
are state of the art in terms of agility, speed, and relative
accuracy of results;
- Provide strategic consulting on sales drivers to senior
management;
- Participate in the business planning processes providing
insights, especially in the areas of trade learnings and
recommendations;
- Provide channel-specific / customer-specific strategies
and tactics that result in actionable sales plans delivering
incremental value;
- Lead development/create sales tools and templates based
on fact- based analysis for use in business planning
sessions;
- Provide business team and customer recommendations and
identify business opportunities as they relate to the four sales
controllables;
- Develop Strong Partnerships;
- Partner with Sales Strategy leaders, Sales management,
and Sales analysts to ensure that the models reflect a current and
comprehensive knowledge of each brand’s strategic direction
and activation plans;
- Ensure that results reflect thorough understanding of
brand issues and inform brand investment decisions;
- Supervise the team of seven analysts, including project
prioritization and focus on development through individualized
training, coaching, and feedback;
- Be the owner and primary point of contact for Sales-owned
/ related data relationships;
- Define data requirements, scope and analytical know-how
in support of schematic development, product mix, category
definition, and profitability and segment development;
- Prioritize analysis based project scope, potential return
on investment (ROI) and business urgencies;
- Manage contracts through legal and procurement in a
timely fashion.

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree with ten years of progressively
responsible experience, preferably within econometric modeling,
economics, market research, media planning, business analytics,
category management or related field OR Master's
Degree/ MBA with 8 years of progressively responsible
experience, preferably within econometric modeling, economics,
market research, media planning, business analytics, category
management or related field;
- Demonstrated experience in managing external
vendors;
- Commercial experience;
- Understanding of Consumer Sales business;
- Able to provide effective strategic consulting to senior
management and the leaders of key internal constituent
groups;
- Proficient in competencies including driving results,
Bias for action, strong communication, decision-making,
interpersonal skills, problem solving, practical judgment,
leadership, teamwork, and analytical skills;
- Demonstrated ability to develop talent.
