What part will you play? 
This role is part of the Ad Innovation & Programmatic Solutions (AIPS) division of Turner Ad Sales and will report to the Sr. Director, Activation Ad Innovation & Programmatic Solutions. The Senior Manager, Activation is responsible for working hand in hand with internal teams and clients (media agency and advertiser) to execute advanced advertising products at the direction of the Sr. Director Activation.  These products typically leverage new data, analytics and technology to create new ways to monetize Turner’s assets across linear, including Advanced TV, addressable capabilities, industry innovations (like OpenA.P.) and digital.  The Sr. Manager will work hand in hand with the team to provide input into process design and help project manage. In addition to working closely with the sales teams, this role will also work very closely with the AIPS Product Team, Strategic Planning division, Research, Technology, Operations and Data Science teams.

What will you be doing?  
  • Ownership of Media Agency and Client Deal Activations
    • Support, manage, mentor and train a team of analysts or associates including tactical client projects, new processes, data assets, and larger career goals
    • Oversee, manage and execute projects “end-to-end” from pre-sales, target definitions, schedule optimization’s, on-air booking through campaign reporting
  • Client Strategy
    • Focus on bigger picture strategy for client activations and renewals
    • Work across various departments to create insights and storytelling for pitching, proposals and reporting
    • Ensure current materials support Turner’s Audience buying strategy and story
    • Determine client vertical goals and benchmarks, assess data assets, specify the use of various data sets and qualify projects
  • Vendor & Systems Management
    • Manage relationships with various ROI and Data vendors to ensure project delivery
    • Manage current systems and tools the Activation team uses to execute a deal
  • Process Improvement & Creation
    • Ensure we are working in the most efficient way, identify areas for improvement and provide solutions
    • Understand how automation changes and improves workflow and implement across team
    • Create working relationship across various departments to improve communication and sharing of ideas

Knowledge Base:
  • Required Knowledge of Microsoft Office- PowerPoint, Word, Excel (pivot tables)
  • Strong knowledge of linear and digital advertising
  • Strong knowledge of linear and digital ad operations (ad serving, trafficking etc.)
  • Working knowledge of audience data and systems used to process that data (Preferred)
    • Audience Data Examples: Nielsen, comScore, Rentrak, TRA, Nielsen Catalina, Nielsen Buyer Insights, MRI, PlaceIQ
    • Audience Data Systems Examples: NPower, Rentrak, TRA
  • Knowledge of data, analytics and ROI studies (Preferred)
    • Aptitude to learn Advanced Analytics
    • Predictive modeling techniques and applications
    • ROI methodologies
  • Aptitude for technology as it relates to media
  • Awareness of programmatic solutions and technology providers in market for linear (Preferred)
    • Examples: Clypd, Visible World, Rovi, Simulmedia
  • Interest and aptitude around digital programmatic (Preferred)
Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 6-8 years experience with digital and/or linear advertising (media company, vendor, or agency preferred)
  • 2+ years of managerial experience
