Posting Job Description What part will you play?

We are currently seeking a Senior Manager, Accounting to support our Enterprise Financial Services (EFS) Home Entertainment General Ledger & Record to Report Accounting department. This position is responsible for day-to-day execution of general accounting activities primarily related to international territories, record-to-report processes and operating activities with the Shared Service provider for Warner Home Entertainment. The duties will include general ledger stewardship, month end closing and reporting, consolidation of actual results, preparation as well as review of all financial statements from the distribution of Home Entertainment products, by title reporting for supplemental, footnotes and disclosures, issuing Home Entertainment Close Memos and significant reserves books for senior management. The duties will also include working with the Shared Services provider, Business Unit Finance and Accounting in Burbank and international affiliates, other Enterprise Financial Services (EFS) Shared Service Groups in multiple locations, Tax Department, and other corporate groups including but not limited to Financial Reporting in support of the closing process. Specifically, the responsibilities include:   
  • Oversight of all month end close activities related to international territories including: trial balance review, journal entry adjustments, sales analysis, ensuring proper posting of revenue according to ASC 606, preparation/review of financial statements and supplemental schedules, accrual schedules, balance sheet account reconciliations, Warner Home Video reserves, and variance analysis between actual and plan.
  • Establishing and ensuring timeliness of overall monthly close activities, accuracy of close processes and management of Shared Services activities such as ensuring SOX controls are implemented and adhered to.
  • Management of monthly/quarterly close deliverables to WB Corporate Financial Reporting including Business Unit by-title submissions, management reports, footnotes, and supplemental schedules.
  • Management of day to day general ledger activities including regular GL account reviews, cash clearing, foreign exchange analyses, tax withholding, and unearned revenue reconciliations according to ASC 606 as well as preparation/review of reports and analysis of sales, cost of goods sold, inventory, reserves, tax, etc. 
  • Oversight of activities related to By Title revenue, cost of revenue, receivables and inventory data including management of all aspects of the relationship between EFS and Business Unit accounting organizations as well as prepare/provide schedules as requested by External auditors.
  • Development of staff into mature financial advisors with a customer service orientation, set priorities for the department, and make recommendations on process improvements/standardization.
What do we require from you?
  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or other related field along with CPA.
  • 6+ years experience in public and/or private accounting; 2-3 years managing staff.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, financial close, consolidations, reporting and planning.
  • Proficiency in a variety of systems: High level Excel experience preferred (macros, pivot tables, lookup functions); Microsoft Word; SAP & BW experience.
  • Knowledge and understanding of ASC 606 Revenue from Contracts with Customers.
  • Domestic & international travel required as needed.
