Senior Leave of Absence Counselor (1801808) – Florham Park, NJ Where the Chemistry Happens We are seeking a professional like you be responsible for the confidential intake and management of Leaves of Absence and disability claims for Management Represented and Union employees (U.S. and Canada). This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring accurate and timely pay, status updates, case documentation, regulatory compliance on Federal and State leaves, notifications, and communications to appropriate parties (e.g., payroll, site medical contacts, supervisors, HR Managers, employee). The Senior Leave Counselor will handle the more complex and sensitive cases while supervising a team of leave counselors providing them with motivation and assistance as needed. Formula for Success
  • Your previous experience and background in customer service will be well-served as you will provide a high level of service to stakeholders including employees, supervisors, and Human Resources.
  • Your broad understanding of various leave types (e.g., Military, State/Federal FMLA, short-/long-term disability) will be a valued asset as you will be relied on to determine eligibility and appropriate benefits.
  • Leveraging your strong attention to detail, you will successfully conduct audit reviews to ensure pay, status, direct billing, and plan requirements are maintained, including appropriate reductions.
  • Engaging across the organization, you will train employees, supervisors, HR staff; train and mentor new Leave Team members; and assist the Leave of Absence Manager with data analysis and escalated issues.
  • Leveraging your knowledge of the short- and long-term disability process, you will monitor long-term claimants for retirements, terminations, and benefits (e.g., continued life insurance); and handle the short-/long-term overpayment recovery process.
  • As a trusted advisor, you will develop and review update communications as required by law, as well as coordinate disability retirements for union populations and the Appeal Review process.
