The Colgate-Palmolive Company invites applications for the position of Financial Analyst/Senior Financial Analyst, Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting in our New York office. This position is responsible for the preparation and analysis of a wide variety of financial and other reports including quarterly SEC filings, the annual report, and the proxy statement. Specific responsibilities for this position also include but not limited to the following:

 

  • Preparation of reports, presentations and analysis designed to communicate selected financial data to Senior Management and the external investor community;
  • Preparation and analysis of SEC filings, i.e. 10-K, 10-Q and 8-K, including XBRL tagging;
  • Preparation and analysis of Benefit Plan financial statements, i.e. 11-K and ERISA financial statements;
  • Colgate's compliance with Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act;
  • Research on a variety of technical accounting matters under US GAAP and business issues;
  • Assist with the maintenance and communication of current and new accounting policies to finance personnel around the Colgate world;
  • Assist with the coordination and administration of the worldwide external audit;
  • Various special projects and analyses as requested such as the implementation of new accounting standards;
  • Train junior staff (i.e. interns) and review their work

 

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting required;  MBA/Masters degree in Finance/Accounting a plus;
  • CPA required;
  • Minimum of 4 years of public accounting experience -- preferably within a Big 4 firm
  • Strong PC skills required, proficiency in Excel, Word
  • Strong analytical skills;
  • Excellent communication ability, both written as well as oral
  • Experience in the consumer product industry a plus

  • High level of comfort and ability to work with multi-cultural teams from multiple regions around the world
