Senior Director, Agile Delivery


Description

This position provides leadership, coordination, and management of a multi-million-dollar Cox Automotive Portfolio.  This Portfolio Leader is accountable for the delivery processes of multiple supporting sub-teams (Value Streams) that are responsible for Cox Automotive agile product delivery and ongoing operations.  These activities include backlog management support, delivering goals and epics, providing integration points between the SAFe levels, and providing progress and status. The Portfolio Leader facilities priority decisions with executive level teams across Product, Technology, Architecture and Business leaders.   This role creates and maintains a consistent approach to SAFe product development and serves as change agent for continuous improvement through improved/enhanced processes and operations.  The Directors of the respective Value Streams report to this role.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
  • Ensure alignment from Strategic themes down to team delivery
  • Facilitate prioritization of Product Strategy investments with company leaders 
  • Facilitate operation of Portfolio teams, including activities such as identifying collisions, sequencing work, managing dependencies, assessing feasibility, etc. 
  • Provide input to development and refinement of enterprise agile processes
  • Partners with Product Planning/Strategy, Enterprise Architecture and Product/Business owners to manage the Enterprise Portfolio
  • Supports the process for planning for the 6-quarter product strategy roadmap
  • Supports the process for Product enhancement and defect management
  • Provide input to delivery goals and objectives on a quarterly basis to the Value Streams; measure, communicate and manage to those goals throughout the quarter.  
  • Facilitates discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution within the Portfolio team and stakeholders.
  • Facilitates resolution of enterprise execution dependencies.  Anticipate risks and dependencies and manage them proactively with the Kanban teams.  
  • Provide input to development and refinement of Cox Auto scaled delivery framework
  • Maintains industry knowledge, staying abreast of industry trends and latest training topics
  • Facilitates Portfolio and Portfolio-related meetings and rituals. 
  • Continuous learning and refining Agile practices in order to gain team efficiencies

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of professional experience, 5+ years managing and leading employees and complex team efforts, 3+ years experience leading SAFe agile teams, or equivalent program and project management experience on large complex technical projects/programs.
  • Demonstrated success in managing/leading teams. 
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong leadership, facilitation, negotiation, mentoring and personnel management skills.
  • Experience with business support software applications such as MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, Visio, and Access) required
