Posting Job Description What part will you play?
Warner Bros. Consumer Products Inc. seeks a Senior Category Manager for the Global Themed Entertainment (GTE) department. Under direction of Vice President, develops, implements and executes strategies for long-term growth in the GTE category. Manages licensing activities for GTE with responsibility for strategy, potential business growth opportunities, licensee negotiation input and day-to-day oversight.  
 
  • Instrumental in supporting both short-term and long-term GTE strategies in order to maximize revenue and brand exposure. Utilizing industry knowledge, determines appropriate business opportunities based on licensee experience, market share, creative ability, financial proposal, speed to market and overall fit within GTE portfolio of themed experiences.
  • Under direction of Vice President, manages all aspects of assigned GTE accounts from pitching properties and input on contract negotiation to servicing the day-to-day business needs of licensees including oversight of creative approvals through StarLabs and in direct consultation with Creative team, procurement of creative assets including style guides, marketing updates, property research, legal approvals and public relations support.
  • Oversees existing licensee IP use within property and manages expansion of IP within properties.  Oversees and synergizes across WBCP, approvals of existing and new attractions, activities, evets, etc. for licensed property.  
  • Works closely with key WBCP internal stakeholders (Franchise, PR, Legal, Finance, Product Development) along with sister divisions (WBTV, DCE, WB Interactive, WBHE, Theatrical Promotions) to ensure consistent brand and strategy alignment, communication on necessary approvals and marketing activations, and asset requests.
  • Assists Vice President in evaluating complex and/or new business opportunities including due diligence on potential license, market & competition, size of financial opportunity, and best business model. Assists in negotiating critical deal points providing key input and analysis.
  • Assists Vice President in establishing, managing and achieving financials goals, providing significant input in overall short-term and long-range budget targets. Assists in all forecasts and business reviews. Monitors sales results to ensure revenues meet budgetary goals.
  • Communicates key account activity to International stakeholders including general licensee updates, current negotiations and pitches, financial forecasts and long-term plans.
  • In partnership with Vice President, develops annual Strategic Plan for senior management consisting of financial results and forecast, industry and competitive overviews and long-term growth strategies.
  • Responsible for identifying, developing and executing against new business initiatives in the GTE category that garner incremental revenue for WBCP.  
  • Attends tradeshows and visits licensees as needed to update property activities and provide strategic direction.
  • Perform other related licensing duties and special projects as assigned.
What do we require from you?
  • Bachelors degree.
  • 3 - 5years previous licensing and/or themed entertainment related experience.
  • Knowledge of licensing industry.
  • Must have ability to prepare and present written and oral sales presentations
  • Must be able to lift 20+ lbs.
  • Must be able to travel when necessary.
