Senior Business Analyst

About the position

The Program Management team within Corporate Compensation is responsible for the implementation and management of large, high risk and complex compensation processes and systems. A unique opportunity exists within the Program Management team for a Senior Business Analyst working with an Oracle HCM product.

Reporting to Manager responsible for annual compensation system administration, this position is a lead role that provides business analysis, data analysis and process management support for various equity and cash based compensation plans and processes. The ideal candidate should have a deep analytical background, broad project experience, and strong written and oral communication skills. In this role, you must be able to manage multiple priorities and excel in a fast-paced environment where the ability to work autonomously is critical. Equally important is flexibility and partnering to effectively contribute to team projects and/or provide assistance and coverage to teammates as workload dictates. Strong relationships with those viewed as teammates, customers, service providers, and vendor partners are necessary to ensure successful delivery of services and support.

Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Configuration Lead responsible for ensuring the system administration team continues to develop with the evolving Oracle COMP SaaS model.   Ensuring the multiple plans are designed to fully utilize the product and its current features and functionality.

  • Design and Maintenance Lead for the management of complex yearly compensation statements.   The statements leverage the highly technical Oracle business intelligence (BI) reporting platform. Statements are produced for domestic and international employees in multiple languages / currencies.

  • Technical Reporting Expert providing BI reporting expertise for 100+ SQL based reports. Includes researching and analyzing Oracle release notes to ensure deployment has not negative effect on Prudential’s environments. Additional accountability includes reviewing business specific requirements to provide solutions that align with Prudential’s plans.

  • Integration Oversight lead in partnership with HR technology, ensures the appropriate attention is given to define the appropriate source of the data required in COMP. This requires the incumbent to work in partnership with multiple vendors.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field

  • 3+ years of experience in configuration and tuning of Oracle products with Prudential product specific knowledge

  • 3+ years’ experience in business analysis, data analysis, and implementation of system solutions – experience in business requirements gathering & documentation is a plus

  • 2+ years’ work experience with Integration, application upgrades, enhancements, and migrations for Oracle application life cycle management

  • 2+ years’ experience with HCM File-Based Loader

  • 3+ years’ experience with Fusion HCM Co-Existence Solution

  • Basic understanding of the compensation administration function, with the ability to present and clearly explain information to non-technical audiences

  • Effective communication skills to manage the interaction between multiple Workstreams and Vendors.

  • Ability to work well in team and independently

  • Demonstrates ability to develop innovative solutions to problem situations; ability to think critically and creatively

  • Strong partnering, problem solving and issue resolution skills, with the ability to identify processes that can be streamlined and improved

  • Strong risk management and control mindset as work involves highly confidential data

  • Detail oriented with strong time management, organizational skills and ability to adapt to frequent change

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite - Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint

  • Familiarity with other HR applications is a plus (e.g., PeopleSoft, COGNOS, or similar report writing tools)

  • Overtime required during peak periods

  • Occasional travel of less than 5%
