About the position

TITLE: Senior Investment Associate (Quantitative Management Associates LLC – Newark, NJ)

DUTIES: Responsible for analyzing the current infrastructure system to identify and resolve any weaknesses that could impact the strong growth curve of the Core Equity product line. Research and support the current alpha forecasting models for the team. Work closely with the Portfolio Managers to improve the models, continuing to add PM insights into the process. Lead independent research projects by generating creative ideas and rigorous quantitative analysis that includes testing the efficacy of factors, writing production codes, manipulating large sets of data and conducting detailed analysis as required. Analyze financial markets, industry-specific, data to forecast business, industry and economic conditions and trends that help support appropriate investment decisions. Work on enhancements to the portfolio optimization process, and providing support for portfolio construction, performance attribution, and portfolio management activities, including ad–hoc research requests from Portfolio Managers. Help create a back-testing framework that will assist in conducting back-tests of strategies and proposed products. Participate in creating attribution analyses of portfolios along required dimensions.

QualificationsREQTS: Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mathematics, Finance, Applied Economics, or a related field plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered or as a Quantitative Research Analyst, Quantitative Analyst, or a related position. Must have five (5) years of experience working with: advanced statistical methods; data analysis techniques; Python; Java; R; ksh; ssh; SQL; Linux; quantitative alpha research and modeling; portfolio construction and optimization; risk management; equity products; Bloomberg; and simulation.
