The Cash Management Department within Wells Fargo Advisors consists of two teams, each performing very different yet highly critical functions: the Wire Transfer team and the Branch Banking team. We have a current need for a Securities Operations Services Specialist 2 (SOSS2) to join the Branch Banking team in Glen Allen, VA. The Branch Banking team’s focus is entirely on reconciliation. Team members review client accounts and check disbursement accounts that are linked to the bank Demand Deposit Accounts (DDA) for customer clearing purposes. The Branch Banking team serves as a liaison between the bank and the branches in an effort to resolve discrepancies between the bank and branch transactions. Errors are researched and adjustments made to ensure the customers’ accounts are in order.

Duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Effectively communicating with internal clients via telephone and electronic media
  • Must meet or exceed established performance goals and objectives
  • Coordinating situations that involve other departments
  • Reviewing time sensitive and/or complex documents
  • Providing back-up for other desks as needed
  • Working under moderate to minimal supervision
  • Ensuring work is completed according to service level agreements (SLAs)
  • Demonstrating a strong work ethic
  • Customer focused approach to problem solving
  • Working as an individual contributor, yet willing to partner and be part of a team environment
  • Developing a strong working knowledge of cash management requirements
  • Willingness to “raise your hand” and recognize areas of opportunity

This role requires great attention to detail and the ability to identify and resolve inconsistencies in client accounts. The monetary movements within these accounts can have life changing consequences for our customers, which is why the most qualified applicant for this role will not only demonstrate an outstanding attention to detail but also a customer centric approach.

Required Qualifications

  • 18+ months of experience in one or a combination of the following: customer service, operations, financial services, accounting, business processing, analytical, financial, clerical, or call center
  • 1+ year of financial industry experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy skills
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
  • Ability to navigate multiple computer systems, applications, and utilize search tools to find information
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • 1+ year of brokerage industry experience
  • Beta experience
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment
  • Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a team environment
  • Strong math skills

Salary Information

The salary range displayed below is based on a Full-time 40 hour a week schedule.

VA-Glen Allen: Min: $29,600 Mid: $40,500
