Colgate-Palmolive invites applications for a Research Scientist position based at our Piscataway, NJ location. The research scientist candidate will be responsible for the research, development, and evaluation of next generation oral care products.  Specific activities include development of bioactive delivery vehicles in addition to development of diagnostic devices to evaluate product performance. 

The candidate should have knowledge in materials science and chemistry.  A background in polymer chemistry and drug delivery devices is preferred.  Experience in tissue regeneration techniques is a plus. The candidate must be able to contribute to the program strategy by understanding critical technical requirements in terms of the experimental design, measurement science and formulation to develop an overall project plan that fulfills the business objectives.

The candidate must be able to work effectively on cross-functional teams that include partners from Research and Development, Marketing, Technology Insights.  A qualified candidate must be able to independently manage multiple technical projects concurrently and effectively utilize both internal and external resource to achieve project objectives.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Ph.D in Materials Science or Chemistry. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the area of drug delivery and polymer science.
  • Capable of carrying out independent research programs with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including fluency in English.
  • Ability to interact with multifunctional technical/non-technical personnel and be an effective participant in a team environment.

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • 1-3+ years of experience developing and/or implementing consumer products.
  • Knowledge in the area of tissue regeneration or repair.
