As a Research Analyst on Nielsen’s Client Analytics, Audience Insights division, you will drive the development of stories surrounding viewing trends to help clients make informed decisions about their business.   Working primarily with Nielsen television data, you will be responsible for preparing meaningful analyses designed to resolve specific client concerns and provide actionable insight.  You will work both individually and as a team with other analysts across all regional offices to provide a professional, clear response to client inquiries.  Client base includes local television networks, national television networks, syndicators, sports teams and advertising agencies.



  • Compile data, related facts and information into a well-designed summary report that allows for easy and fast interpretation. 
  • Identify and pursue the various options that lead to the development of a potential final narrative that yields specific (data-supported) answers for pointed client questions.
  • Create intelligent illustrations/graphs/tables yielding credible support to those clients needing quantitative confirmation of business hypotheses.
  • Present those findings to the client in a cohesive and concise manner
  • Leverage both qualitative and quantitative data when pursuing analytic insight
  • Project management of larger insights initiatives
  • Cross-learning of all Nielsen datasets across various platforms to understand the breadth of Nielsen data extracts to use in analyses


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong math and logic skills
  • Accuracy and attention to details
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Word
  • Exceptional aptitude for data analysis


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of media related research with client exposure
  • Knowledge of Nielsen reports, software, methodologies, and computations; media industry experience
