The Role

As a critical part of the strategic leadership team for the Greater Chicago Region, this leader will be responsible for the identification, development and execution of strategic business initiatives to foster new market opportunities and drive business growth in Comcast's Greater Chicago Region. The VP, Business Development and Strategic Initiatives, will lead a small team to cultivate distinctive projects in partnership with diverse set of stakeholders including commercial and residential real estate developers and property managers, smart cities practitioners, architects, urban planners and other visionaries that are leveraging communications and content technologies to innovate, improve and manage the built environment.

Summary of Major Responsibilities

- Represent Comcast in external settings as an industry leader at professional gatherings, conferences and civic environments and other forums with the intent of cultivating business relationships.

- Drive partnership conversations and engagement with executive level decision makers.

- Conduct market and situation analysis to size business opportunities, assess critical trends and identify opportunities to deploy new products or apply existing solutions to new customer needs to drive revenue opportunities.

- Partner with internal Comcast business groups and stakeholders such as MachineQ, Spectra, Comcast Spotlight and other Comcast Corporation assets to deliver multi-product data, IoT and content solutions to customers through a single, unified channel.

- Partner to advance strategic network expansion strategy across Comcast markets in Illinois, Northwest Indiana and Southwest Michigan in concert with the region's existing Market Development strategy, overseeing the overall strategy and execution.

- Identify, evaluate and negotiate strategic business alliances (internal and external) that are in line with the organization's long-range goals. Must be able to lead through influence and collaboration

- Evaluate RFPs, manage proposals, scope definition, pricing and maintain alignment with potential customers throughout network design process to start of service delivery.

- Manage internal and external planning workshops, including market specific annual strategic and budget planning processes.

Education Level

- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, finance or related field.

- Master's Degree/MBA or MPA with focus on finance, marketing or strategy strongly preferred.
