Regional Director, Health & Productivity Analytics and Consultation Practice

About the position

The Regional Director is a professional level position in the Health & Productivity Analytics and Consulting Practice. The position will work with Prudential’s group policyholders to help them maximize productivity and minimize absence. The Health and Productivity practice supports Distribution in delivering a competitive advantage to our customers within the 1000+employer segment and works cooperatively with Claims, Absence Management, Business Intelligence and Underwriting.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Define the impact of lost time and disability within the 1000+ premier and national client employer space. Determine the readiness of a client to integrate the various appropriate lost time and disability management programs. (20%)
  • Develop absence and disability management programs for appropriate employers – 1000 lives and above. Serve in leadership/coordinating role for Health and productivity Management at the regional sales levels. (20%)
  • Develop policies and practices to support the integration of the various lost time benefit programs (10%)
  • Consult with senior managers (Sr. VP Human Resources, CFO’s, Compensation/Benefit Managers) of large, complex organizations to conduct presentations, obtain information critical to the disability analysis, and to present findings and rationale for recommendations of Health and productivity programs. (10%)
  • Analyze comprehensive lost time data and corporate policies/practices concerning a company's disability and lost time management performance and results. (10%)
  • Identify the organizational and professional characteristics of the respective return to work program’s structure and performance. Determine the return on investment (ROI) for a company based on the patterns of lost time and development outcomes. (5%)
  • Describe and demonstrate to customers the value of an absence and disability management program and create methods by which they are able to adopt the recommendations and solutions we identify. (5%)
  • Conduct formal presentations at conferences and seminars on topics related to absence and disability management and health and productivity. (5%)
  • Represent Prudential at selected large case prospect/finalist meetings and renewal meetings (5%)
  • Be able to provide direct program development support for either integrated disability management procedures, absence management or assistive technology specialties. (2%)
  • Develop and conduct continuing education programs for employers, consultants and medical groups in health and productivity philosophies and strategies. (2%)
  • Prepare content narratives for special employer focused monographs/white papers on health and productivity strategies. (2%)
  • Originate new product/service ideas that are responsive to the needs of the Prudential client (2%)
  • Work with corporate medical, academic and research groups to promote and demonstrate new health and productivity development Strategies (2%)
  • May perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Professional work experience at a minimum of 5 years in one or more of the disciplines most related to absence and disability management and/or health and productivity interventions such as: corporate disability management, human resource management, long term, short term, or workers compensation claims administration; long term, or worker’s compensation claims administration medical and/or vocational rehabilitation case management; Occupational health, safety and wellness; human resource policy, management or organizational development; ergonomic/rehab engineering and design; disability policy and legislative development; disability plan design; legal issues pertaining to disability; and disability systems design and application.
  • Advanced degree or professional certification required.
  • Excellent public speaking, persuasive and negotiation skills.
  • Independent worker and demonstrated ability to provide results in timely manner.
  • Superior analytical skills.
  • The ability to create program models from data, information and interviews.
  • Understanding of the principles of absence & disability management and the specialty areas of integrated disability and absence management.
  • Excellent verbal communication and written communication skills.
  • Ability to create professional and credible reports and documents.
  • Ability to effectively participate in highly analytical and relatively ambiguous work situations and structures.
  • Strong creative problem-solving and research skills.
  • Ability to utilize and apply basic computer applications such as spreadsheets and data bases.
  • Ability to travel-estimated 5 - 10 days per month.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at a time.
  • Ability to provide independent project leadership. Able to take a project from its initial conceptualization to design, development, implementation and evaluation.
