Whether shopping jcp.com or visiting one of over 1,000 store locations across the United States and Puerto Rico, customers will discover a broad assortment of products from a leading portfolio of private, exclusive and national brands.  Supporting this value proposition is the warrior spirit of over 100,000 JCPenney associates worldwide, who are focused on the Company's three strategic priorities of strengthening private brands, becoming a world-class omnichannel retailer and increasing revenue per customer. Job Description The Regional Asset Protection Director will lead Asset Protection programs for designated Districts and Stores within assigned Region.  Reviews Asset Protection program processes in stores to drive shrink reduction and bottom line profits.  Provides leadership to AP teams and stores in the management of critical incidents. Responsibilities • Shrinkage and Safety Programs o Manages the implementation of programs designed to protect Company assets from loss due to internal/external theft and fraud within a designated geographical area o Provides on-site analyses of potential risks and develops appropriate and effective countermeasures to reduce loss and shrinko Reviews physical security standards and gives guidance on emergency response as neededo Oversees execution and effectiveness of Company safety programs within the Region  • Investigations o Offers input on matters with highly sensitive personnel relations, or customer and public relations implicationso Conducts and manages investigations of significant losses or high profile cases (active shooter, bomb threats, emergencies, etc.) o Directly handles all investigations involving District staff, General Managers and select Managers/Supervisor cases • Team Development o Assists with identifying, recruiting, hiring and training new to position District Asset Protection Managers; follows up on training with new hire Area Asset Protection and Asset Protection Managers and Supervisors  o Educates and motivates District and Store staffs to achieve Company profits and shrinkage goalso Provides developmental leadership to District Asset Protection Managers and Store Asset Protection Associates to ensure programs and processes are maintained • Record Maintenance o Regularly reviews reports of internal/external apprehensions, incident reports and Sales Audit documentation to ensure that stores are maintaining records in accordance with Company policieso Reviews and approves all internal case reports from District Asset Protection Managers; conducts monthly review of other internal cases to ensure standards are maintained  • Performance Standards o Consistently meets established performance standards for the role, including (but not limited to) merchandising, visual, localization, customer service, resulting in improved sales and profit Skills & Experience • Work Experience – 3 - 5 years’ experience in a multi-unit role, ideally in a big-box retailer.  • Education – Bachelor degree or equivalent work experience. • Decisiveness Makes decisions in a confident, firm and timely manner. • Organization/Time Management Plans and structures work; priorities are based on impact to sales, profit or customer experience. • Strategic Vision – Identifies strategies and objectives; provides clear expectations and shares rationale behind decisions. • Develops Talent – Builds a diverse and high performing team; provides feedback and stretch assignments to foster growth; empowers the team to make critical decisions; rewards and recognizes efforts and frequently discusses future opportunities and development plans.  • Practices Candor – An approachable and unguarded leader that shares honest and constructive feedback with team; sincere with communication.
