QMA - HR Business Partner, Asset Management

QMA targets superior risk-adjusted returns by combining research-driven quantitative processes built on economic and behavioral foundations with judgment from experienced market practitioners. As of 3/31/2018, we manage approximately $127 billion in assets for a global client base of corporate, public and multi-employer pension plans, endowments, foundations, sovereign wealth funds and sub-advisory accounts for leading financial services companies.


  • Must be viewed as a strategic thinker, with a focus on the big picture, while being able to manage the details.

  • Forge and maintain close partnership and collaboration with all employees and managers.

  • Implement people initiatives and programs with a focus on current and future organizational needs.

  • Offer direction, coaching and facilitation to managers to ensure alignment with company strategy and values, including guidance on problem solving, conflict resolution, compliance and development.

  • Plan and lead change, enhance organizational effectiveness, identify areas for improvement and efficiencies.

  • Develops organization strategies by identifying and researching human resources issues; contributing information, analysis, and recommendations to organization strategic thinking and direction; establishing human resources objectives in line with organizational objectives.

  • Help shape the business culture, proactively supporting the business with action plans.

  • Drive Talent Management practices to support business strategy, including talent and succession planning, performance management, effective reward and pay strategies and policy interpretations.

  • Collaborate with HR Centers of Expertise on matters of employee relations, diversity & inclusion and talent acquisition.

  • Ensure compliancy with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.

  • Assist in measurement and evaluation of the impact of HR solutions to enhance fact-based decision-making and provide data analysis and insights.

  • Participate in cross business initiatives within and outside of PGIM.

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years’ experience in HR or similar roles required; Financial Services experience strongly preferred.
  • Successful track record of execution, organization, relationship building, problem solving and demonstrating sound judgment.

  • Seek to understand how the business works including how it makes money, key competitors, products and clients and help translate business needs into human resources priorities.

  • A genuine interest in continuous learning and ability to provide ideas for new/better ways to work.

  • Comfortable in situations in which the goals are unclear and changing. Ask questions, are adaptable and welcome new challenges.

  • Adjust communications and style to meet the situational need.
