SCOPE OF POSITION
  • Plan, organize, direct and control the production department, both making and finishing to achieve  the required outputs to strict specification limits and quality standards.
  • Maintains production costs according to the allocated budget.
  • Ensure adequate supply of finished goods to meet sales demand and customer service levels.
  • Create and maintain an environment of continuous improvement within the factory.

 

REPORTING

 

  • The incumbent reports directly to the Operations Manager
  • Reporting to the incumbent will be the operations team within the making and Finishing lines

 

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Managing of all making and finishing operations, including workforce , resources
  • Ensure daily production plan adherence and develops corrective actions where improvements are required
  • Measure plant performance, analyze problem areas and develop corrective actions
  • Strict control of production area related spending within the budget of the department
  • Take leadership in FP&R , EOHS , Quality and GMP for the production area.
  • Action input from other departments such as Quality , Engineering to drive continuous improvements
  • Responsible for training and development for the production teams., technical skills improvement being a major area of focus. Regular feedback sessions with shopfloor on plant performance. Drive employee engagement throughout the facility
  • Maintain adherence to Quality and EOHS standards
  • Supply reports to Operations Manager relevant to planning , production , performance as well as plant control measures
  • Development and implementation of effective operational strategy
  • Responsible for ensuring the company policies are adhered to within the department and carries out necessary disciplinary according to the company code
    1. Deal with daily disciplinary issues, hear grievances and resolve without reverting to senior management where possible
    2. Conflict Handling and resolution

 

  • Preparation of budget for the department for MYR as well as COS.
  • Responsible for capacity planning and preparation of utilization charts
  • Inventory control and material storage conditions management
    • Lead monthly stock take, variance investigations and implementation of variance reduction measures.

 

  • Partner with Engineering to increase plant reliability and optimize spending related to repairs, maintenance and outside services.

END RESULTS / OUTPUTS OF THE WORK

 

The outputs of the work done by the incumbent are as follows:

  • Achieve operational efficiency for the department
  • Cultivated cross functional collaborations within the plant
  • Reduction of spending, overtime , downtimes and improvement of AU
  • Adherence to GMP, EOHS, Compliance and Quality standards.
  • Maintenance of good Industrial relations within the facility

 

LEVEL OF EDUCATION

 

  • Engineering Qualification (Chemical / Process Engineering preferable, Mechanical or Industrial ) + 3 years’ ( minimum) experience in FMCG environment

 

Qualifications + Experience

  • Technical knowledge and understanding of equipment and machinery. Experience in maintenance and Engineering function
  • Solid understanding and experience working with FP&R , EOHS and Quality
  • SAP , BI ,Advanced Excel would be an added advantage
  • Problem Solving and Financial management. Experience with Lean Engineering and Manufacturing principles
  • Strong background and understanding of labour relations
  • Management skills
