Product Director, API's and Integrations


Description

The Product Director, APIs and Integrations contributes to the API and integrations roadmap and vision for DealerTrack F&I. The candidate must have experience in product management, agile development, API strategy, or integrations. The Product Director, APIs and Integrations will ensure that the applications, integrations, and API services work together to meet or exceed business needs, developer requirements, and end-user application requirements.  The ideal candidate has a track record for driving deeply technical solutions at a rapid pace and with high customer impact. 
The Product Director, APIs and Integrations must consistently monitor and understand current product performance as well as rapidly define and drive development of new, differentiating offerings and key platform enablers that allow Cox Automotive to be well positioned in the marketplace. Additionally, this role requires a high-level technical understanding of web applications, business to business integrations, and excellent analytical, communication and collaboration skills.
Principle Duties
  • Prioritize customer requirements around APIs and integrations, ensuring API services and API services extensions are prioritized according to business needs and developer needs
  • Drive the evolution of the API and overall integrations platform within larger product development architecture, product design and planning processes
  • Partner with other product managers and tech teams across the company to clarify and focus platform integration and API requirements and act as key knowledge owner on how to integrate products into the F&I platform
  • Work with highly talented teams to execute the API and platform integration roadmap and generate innovative solutions to technical and product problem
  • Advocate for API best practices across products
  • Work with Product Marketing and Field Teams on enablement materials for Integrations, APIs and Extensions for the F&I Platform
  • Develop product roadmaps to communicate the vision of the products to stakeholders
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and building cross-solution relationships
  • Inspire creativity across product development by demonstrating strong strategic thinking, a crisp articulation of market and technology trends that impact automotive retail and lending
  • Manage business stakeholder communication of key information, decisions, status, and timelines
  • Obtain and maintain a working knowledge of DealerTrack F&I applications and customer needs, as well as other business units within Cox Automotive
  • Work with team to proactively identify work, communicate, and resolve project issues and risks that interfere with project execution or success

Qualifications

  • Proven experience with managing API’s and services as a product 
  • 5+ years of experience in software with at least 2 years of experience as a Product Manager
  • Proven history of successful SaaS product discovery, development and delivery
  • Strong analytical skills, quantitative and problem solving ability, including deep experience with SOAP and REST APIs
  • Experience working with product teams delivering product via agile with scrum or other enterprise agile approaches
  • Strong experience with communication within a customer journey through email, mobile, and software notifications. 
  • Ability to move from high-level strategy to detailed execution 
  • Ability to harmonize and focus multiple stakeholders on working toward a common goal
  • Bachelor’s degree in either Engineering, Business or IT related field is required. Master’s degree preferred
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, analytical, and listening skills
  • Must be hands-on, results-driven, and possess a sense of urgency
  • Demonstrated success as a Product Manager in product lifecycle management including:
    • Developing and launching new products or features
    • Developing opportunity assessments and/or business cases
    • Developing concept and product definitions
    • Product monitoring and evaluation
    • Product optimization and extension
    • Soft skills to quickly gain the confidence, trust and support of internal clients and stakeholders
    • Excellent written, presentation, communication and listening skills
    • Strong problem solving experience
  • Preferred Experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework)
    • Automotive industry
    • Finance/Lending industry
    • CRM 
    • Familiarity with data science, machine learning, BI tools
