Product Analyst, Investment Analytics

The Manager, Investment Analytics will primarily deliver proactive product content, competitive analysis, and research to assist Sales and Marketing in effectively positioning PGIM’s equity mutual funds within various distribution channels to increase sales and market share. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Analyze PGIM’s equity mutual fund/separate account offerings and compare to competing offerings on third-party platforms in order to develop favorable positioning strategies.
  • Develop strong understanding of competitor funds/managed accounts.
  • Generate analytical data to support positioning recommendations.
  • Evaluate and recommend optimal products to emphasize on target platforms to earn platform placement.
  • Assist Marketing with any analytical support in generating sales ideas and marketing materials.
  • Read industry publications and communicate pertinent industry issues and competitive intelligence to the sales force.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationship with Sales, Investment Managers, Marketing and Product Managers.
  • Proactively assist National Accounts with competitive analysis and analytical support with the goal of gaining access to key platforms.
  • With sales force to better understand and serve needs of analysts/gatekeepers
  • Conducting product presentations.
  • Educating sales force on how products can be most effectively positioned in a particular competitive environment.

  • An undergraduate degree and 3-5 years of mutual fund/managed account industry experience.
  • CIMA, CFP, MBA, CFA or other professional qualification preferred.
  • Excellent written communication and oral presentation skills.
  • Investment management experience, and strong understanding of financial markets, investment concepts, styles and issues; must be able to communicate effectively on investment issues.
  • Manager due diligence analysis.
  • Candidates must have significant knowledge of mutual fund strategies, returns-based performance evaluation methods, as well as experience interpreting the results of investment performance and attribution.
  • Must understand mutual fund and managed account platform due diligence/research processes, and be able to effectively communicate with and work with the Prudential Investments sales/marketing team.
  • Candidate must have strong knowledge and ability to explain and communicate investment concepts and MPT statistics.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with strong attention to detail.
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills; must be able to establish and maintain effective, cooperative working relationships with all departments and organizational levels.
  • Self-directed; must be comfortable with establishing objectives, then working independently to achieve them, seeking manager’s input as needed.
  • Must be capable of effectively representing Prudential at corporate, client, and industry functions.
  • Series 7 license preferred; must be capable of obtaining licensing within 120 days if not currently held.
  • Must have the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, and complete projects on a timely basis.
  • Strong PC skills (including general software and industry databases such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word, MPI Stylus, Morningstar Direct and/or Morningstar Advisor Work Station, PSN, Bloomberg, preferred).
  • Limited travel may be required.
