Job Specific Details:
As a core capability defined within the Enterprise Procurement Strategic Framework and a significant value creation lever for Procurement organizations, Technology, Data & Actionable Insights is a strategic priority for Johnson & Johnson Procurement.  This new position - Procurement Business Architect (Technology, Data and Actionable Insights) – will have full accountability for the Enterprise Procurement technology & digitization strategy.  Reporting into the Procurement Global Process Owner (GPO), this role’s accountability includes setting the multi-year vision and strategic plan for technology, data and analytics for the function.  This includes, but is not limited to,
  • Leading the Procurement strategic technology planning process
  • Owning the multi-year Procurement technology/digitization roadmap
  • Designing Procurement’s technology architecture/framework
  • Integrating Procurement and other J&J function’s technology strategies
  • Setting Procurement’s long-range technology investment plan (LRFP)
  • Prioritizing and delivering Procurement’s annual technology budget
  • Chairing key Procurement technology governance councils 
  • Owning the relationship with segment 1 technology vendors
You will work in an end-to-end manner across the entire procurement three-tier operating model (Corporate Tier, Business Unit and Global Services tiers) and full procurement taxonomy (Spend Management Strategy & Source-to-Settle) to deliver integrated capabilities for the function.  This role will work closely with leadership-level business partners across Procurement, Supply Chain, Information Technology, Finance and other internal organizations.  A deep understanding of the evolving technology landscape (e.g. Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Block Chain, etc.) is critical in this role. As a result, the role will have a significant external-facing component that interfaces with technology providers, technology suppliers, peer companies, consultants and thought leaders in this space.  

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Business, Technology, Engineering, Science) is minimum required education level.  MBA or Master’s qualifications preferred.
  • A minimum of 12 years of relative business experience is required. 
  • Proven experience in setting and executing transformational technology strategy (any function/industry) is required.
  • Strong process & project management experience is required.
  • Being highly analytical and data-driven thinking is required.
  • Strong business, finance and cross-functional knowledge is required
  • Team leadership and talent development experience is required
  • Experience working in a highly matrixed work environment is required.
  • A strong sense of customer service and the ability to communicate objectives clearly is required.
  • A proven ability to lead multiple priorities effectively and adapt to changing business needs is required.
  • Up to 20% travel required (domestic and international)
