Role Summary

  • Define hardware and budget requirements for experimental build programs
  • Work closely with the Program Lead, Business Development Managers and Government Contracts Team
  • Develop the technical requirements and application ICDs and other required documentation
  • Proactively drive successful system integration at vehicle build sites and testing facilities
  • Identify propulsionsystem related integration issues and drive cross-team discussions to identifyand implement solutions
  • Utilize Design for SixSigma analysis as a decision tool for design trade-off activities and decisionmaking
  • Stays abreast of newtechnology and competitive products
  • Travel as required

The PowerElectronics Application Engineer will be responsible to lead the development ofpower solutions with the balanced integration of the Fuel Cell PropulsionSystem into automotive and non-traditional vehicle platforms. 



Key Responsibilities

·       Develop engineeringdesigns and generate technical solutions for advanced and production hardware

·       Lead the powerelectronic module integration into application specific propulsion systems

·       Define, develop, andlead execution of power electronics integration

·       Leads overallcommunication, coordination, and consultation with cross-functional teams andcustomers


Required Skills and Experience


  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
  • 10+ years of engineering experience in power electronics, electrification, systems engineering, or related area
  • Excellent project management, problem solving, presentation, and communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with others
  • Experience in writing/creating technical specification documents (i.e. design, development, or validation requirements)
  • Basic understanding of fuel cell components and function
  • Basic understanding of propulsion system to vehicle integration
  • Ability to develop a business case for design alternatives
  • Demonstrated ability to effectivelydrive and document team discussions 
  • Demonstrated ability to deal withambiguity and change while working on complex problems


Preferred Skills and Experience

  • MS degree in Engineering
  • Engineering experience in Fuel Cell Systems, Propulsion systems, Product Development
