OTA Reflash Design Release Engineer - ENG0038236

About the role:
  • Owns the OTA Reflash back office features. Serves as a single point of contact for these features among the vehicle component and vehicle systems engineering teams
  • Leads issue resolution for issues identified to the Production OTA Back Office globally. Provides leadership triaging issues among the IT Interlocks for this enterprise-wide OTA Back Office. Responsible to drive these issue to conclusion in a timely manner
  • Works with the OTA Component teams, Validation teams, Client teams, System operations teams and Confidence Launch Planning teams to support the implementation, validation and operational use of OTA Reflash in Global Markets.
  • Provides sound documentation and 5-phase thinking and processes in completing tasks; uses problem resolution tracking tools and change management tools to engage others and drive issues to conclusion
  • Routinely bridges multiple disciplines including Engineering, Information Technology, Technical Support, Marketing to facilitate appropriate system-level design trade-offs between the OTA back office and other OTA systems.
  • For identified issues, able to succinctly characterize these issues in a 5-phase format, providing sound technical recommendations,  and communicate this information to key stakeholders in an expedient manner to move issues to resolution
  • Responsible for the identification, tracking and closure of vehicle-side defects which adversely affect the OTA Back office.  Strong advocate to close back office ‘work-arounds’ with sound system’s engineering solutions and proper vehicle support of OTA Back Office concerns.
  • Attends key meetings to report out on status and engage others. Provides regular metrics on issues and status to leadership in a variety of forums. Escalates key issues when appropriate to gain resolution
Requirements
  • 5+ years in Software Development Lifecycle such as Information Technology, Systems Engineering, Integration and Testing domains.
  • Experience in one or more domains critical to vehicle systems, eg. Wireless communication, Navigation, embedded software development, over the air software updates, cybersecurity, navigation, client/server solutions, web services, vehicle networks and in-vehicle hardware.
  • Ability to perform initial diagnostics and investigate issues to properly triage them based upon limited information
  • Creative, disciplined with a strong sense of ownership, responsibility and on schedule delivery commitment
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Minimum bachelor's degree in Information Technology in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineer, Electrical Engineer or related degree.
