Operations Specialist, Direct to Consumer, Wellbeing - Human Performance Institute


The Johnson & Johnson Human Performance Institute (HPI) is the creator and leader of B2B Employer Wellbeing training programs that improve wellbeing and elevate personal and professional performance through a combination of behavior science, performance psychology, exercise physiology, and nutrition training. Johnson & Johnson is now seeking to scale the HPI proprietary solution via an innovative, direct-to-consumer offering. We are assembling a small start-up team to build and deploy this new business model. Ideally, candidates will be located in the NYC / NJ area with frequent meetings in J&J headquarters in New Brunswick, NJ where a broader group of J&J support functions will aid in building out the solution. We are currently recruiting to fill the role of Operations Specialist Role Description:
  • Support operationalizing the start-up of the Wellbeing business.
  • Working across multiple stakeholders in the business, effectively manage executional elements to ensure a good end-user experience.
  • Manage merchandise procurement, fulfillment, inventory and sales processes. To meet strategic goals coordinating business process activities with internal partners and external vendors. Key Jobs to be Done:
Operations – project management
  • Plan, prioritize and implement projects tasks with leadership team
  • Help define project scope, goals and deliverables
  • Define tasks and required resources. Gather and organize executional task list
  • Create schedule and project timeline. Track deliverables. Create and manage documentation
  • Identify resource needs and coordinate, support and direct project team
  • Manage budget
  • Lead quality assurance and executional excellence
  • Monitor and report on project progress
  • Present to stakeholders reports on progress as well as problems and solutions
  • Implement and manage change when necessary to meet project outputs
  • Evaluate and assess result of project
  • Communicate frequently with key stakeholders on status of key items
  • During start-up phase, Operation Specialist will be a very dynamic role in which day-to-day activities and priorities may vary greatly
Operations – merchandise
  • Provide strategic oversite and merchandise planning manage a year-round calendar of activities to drive sales
  • Oversee all online and POS sales, including procurement, fulfillment, inventory management and shipping,
  • Design and manage merchandise display (online and offline) to provide a seamless shopping experience
  • Maintain existing partnerships and develop new mutually-beneficial partnerships with business partners and community organizations.

Qualifications
Background required:
  • Strong leadership qualities with superior interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge and experience with (online, retail, merchandising or product development, corporate center) processes, systems and reporting
  • Critical thinking and problem solving
  • Excellent decision-making and leadership capabilities
  • Contract negotiation
  • Experience managing and organizing execution of day-to-day business operations in in Retail or DTC Consumer technology company
  • This individual must strong organizational skills and possess high energy and positive attitude
  • Adaptable, able to tolerate stress, comfort with ambiguity / start-up environment
  • Must be able to work with the studio team, as well as the corporate staff
Additional Qualifications:
  • BA / BS, project management qualification (PMP) or equivalent
  • Experience as a project manager
  • Experience in strategic planning, risk management and/or change management
  • Proficiency in project management software tools
  • Live in NYC / NJ / PA area
  • Preferred: Previous start-up experience
