The Payments, Virtual Solutions, and Innovation (PVSI) team includes Operations, Cards and Retail Services, Deposit Products Group, the Innovation Group, Treasury Management, Merchant Services, Payment Solutions, and Wells Fargo Virtual Channels and the professional services teams that partner with these businesses. PVSI's focus is on delivering the next generation of payments and deposit capabilities and advancing our digital and online offerings to design new customer experiences and products. The Operations Group is responsible for key functions critical to achieving Wells Fargo's Vision and Values. Operations provides foundational banking services for many businesses across the enterprise. From protecting customers from fraud to assisting bankers with opening new deposit accounts, from enabling companies to wire funds to processing millions of transactions accurately and timely each day, the critical work our team does creates the experience customers have with Wells Fargo. The Operational Risk Consultant 4 will be responsible for conducting operational risk internal control testing of the Operations group within Payments, Virtual Solutions & Innovation.

This role will provide the first line of defense testing support with specific responsibilities including, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Lead reviews to evaluate the design and performance of policies, procedures, systems and internal controls through planning, conducting and reporting of Operations Control Reviews (OCRs), including compliance, operational risk and financial crime risk and controls
  • Lead and participation in ad hoc control design reviews and walkthroughs with line of business partners, working laterally and vertically with risk and business managers in the organization
  • Develop testing strategies to effectively sample the relevant population
  • Identify issues, analyze root cause and report findings and recommendations to senior management
  • Build and foster strong relationships and collaborate effectively by partnering with line of business partners to provide a risk perspective and recommendations as appropriate
  • Providing assistance to line of business partners in providing credible challenge for resolving issues and implementing action plans to address control deficiencies
  • Coordinate and support various risk assessments

**Preference for position to located in one of the posted locations; however, consideration will be given to candidates across the Wells Fargo footprint



Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both; or 6+ years of IT systems security, business process management or financial services industry experience, of which 3+ years must include direct experience in compliance, operational risk management, or a combination of both
  • 3+ years of testing or quality assurance experience

Other Desired Qualifications
  • Leadership experience in a related Operations, Risk Management or Compliance role
  • Demonstrated experience in Risk Management, Accounting, Audit or in an operations-related environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading high risk projects or initiatives
  • Effective in reviewing business processes to identify emerging risks and control gaps, reporting issues, and providing appropriate risk-based coverage
  • Demonstrated experience in design, execution, and assessment of testing and validation processes
  • Working knowledge of Operational Risk and Compliance Testing and Validation Standards, Operational Risk and Compliance Assessment Program Policy, Risk and Control Self-Assessment System (RCSA) Standards and COSO Compliance Policy and Standards
  • Working knowledge of risk platform tools (e.g. BIKE, CRAS+, SHRP, RCSA, ICE)
  • Professional certification (e.g. CPA, CIA, CRCM)
