Corporate Risk helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. We focus on three key risk areas: credit risk, operational risk and market risk. We help our management and Board of Directors identify and monitor risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and take appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.

Corporate Risk’s risk management team identifies, evaluates, and mitigates risks associated with activities that generate risk (e.g. third parties, records, information security).

We are seeking an Operational Risk Consultant 2 to join the risk management team to support risk execution for the Corporate Risk business. Candidate will have the opportunity to work across all risk types applicable to the department and to work with a variety of individuals in the risk team and businesses.

In this role, the ideal candidate will:

  • Support the Business Risk Leads in day to day risk management activities, as we support specific Corporate Risk lines of business (Operational Risk, WF Compliance, Conduct Management Office, Corporate Risk PMO, FCRM, Enterprise Risk and Credit Risk), with the risk program partners (BCP, Information Security, Records Management, Data Loss Prevention, Third Party Risk Management and Issue Management).
  • Perform some administrative duties that will arise from the risk management programs, consisting of data analysis and reporting, system entry, follow up and status, tracking and coordination of project and initiative work.
  • Participate in, and provide support for, projects and initiatives with low to moderate risk to assist with the identification and mitigation of operational risk in business activities. May assist in drafting corrective action plans as part of program requirements. Drafts reports of findings and recommendations to mitigate risk for operational risk management. Coordinates and supports production of periodic operational risk performance reports for senior management.

Additionally, the Operational Risk Consultant 2 will:

  • Build and maintain relationships with risk management team, management and team members in the department
  • Support the identification of and appropriately escalate issues and emerging areas of concern with other risk management team members and leadership
  • Coordinate and support development and completion of assessment processes (e.g. Risk ID, self-assessments)
  • Analyze qualitative and quantitative data as well as large and sometimes unstructured data sets to draw conclusions around risk drivers and indicators
  • Manipulate data to create digestible, distributable internal reports to team members responsible for action items
  • • Stay informed of changes to tool requirements, policies, and standards by cultivating relationships with key partners

Required Qualifications

  • 1+ year of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both
  • 1+ year of experience in one or a combination of the following: additional compliance, additional operational risk management, IT systems security, business process management or financial services industry experience; or a BS/BA degree or higher in business or a related field
