One Firm Risk Organization - Learning and Communication Leader

A career in Risk Management, within Internal Firm Services, will provide you with the opportunity to advance and foster integrity based decision making and conduct by PwC professionals throughout our organisation. You’ll focus on promoting and monitoring compliance with applicable external laws and regulations as well as internal policies and procedures to help manage PwC’s regulatory, litigation, and reputational risk. Our Compliance team is responsible for oversight of all Compliance activities by our PwC professionals. As part of the team, you’ll help promote and monitor compliance with applicable external and internal policies, laws and regulations and subsequently, manage PwC’s regulatory, litigation and reputational risk.


As a Director, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Proactively lead the practise by setting strategy, drive the development of new business in the market, and provide technical advice across disciplines
  • Building strong networks within the firm to spot and capitalise on opportunities to get involved in projects that others are leading across a number of different business units and sectors
  • Identifying and discussing key issues with our clients to identify potential opportunities
  • Responsibility for a majority of day to day client communications
  • Responsibility to shape and deliver various projects that exceed the expectations of our clients and our own assignment quality criteria
  • Manage and deliver large projects by developing the project team, assessing engagement risks throughout, driving conclusions, and reviewing / challenging the output produced by the team
  • Responsibility for management of engagement financials
  • Helping to grow and develop our team through hands on training and coaching

The One Firm Risk Organization (OFRO) Learning and Communications leader develops the education and messaging strategy for OFRO. The role leverages a team of direct reports and other individuals within and outside OFRO to implement these areas across the firm on behalf of OFRO, and in support of specific OFRO strategic initiatives (e.g, establishing the OFRO brand, driving culture change, enablement through technology).

Demonstrates thought-leader level knowledge and understanding of change management, development and delivery of learning programs, project management, and risk management and/or process improvement.

Demonstrates thought leader-level abilities in the following areas:

  • Leading teams to generate a vision, establish direction and strategic plan while motivating team members, creating an atmosphere of trust, leveraging diverse views, coaching staff and fostering continuous improvement and innovation;
  • Operating with a high degree of independence and accountability in leading and managing others, and to effectively direct, influence, guide and interact with partners and staff, as well as vendors and other parties external to the firm;
  • Leading firmwide change initiatives with quantifiable results;
  • Leveraging communication skills (verbal and written) to translate complex information into simple and understandable actions, as well as influence others in a complicated organization with established cultural norms;
  • Collaborating with functional and firm leadership to execute and support strategic initiatives;
  • Leveraging key relationships with senior leaders to help drive strategic initiatives;
  • Operating effectively in a sometimes ambiguous environment characterized by multiple stakeholders while maintaining productive working relationships with others; and,
  • Thinking strategically or holistically within the broader context of the firm's structure, strategy and processes.
