OFRO - RAFT Independence Consultations - Senior Manager

A career in Risk Management, within Internal Firm Services, will provide you with the opportunity to advance and foster integrity based decision making and conduct by PwC professionals throughout our organisation. You’ll focus on promoting and monitoring compliance with applicable external laws and regulations as well as internal policies and procedures to help manage PwC’s regulatory, litigation, and reputational risk. Our Consultations team is responsible for handling PwC employee inquiries telephonically and via email. As part of the team, you’ll answer calls, research required information using available resources, and manage and resolve customer complaints. You will also be responsible for documenting information, identifying and escalating priority issues and following up with the relevant party.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Manager, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Proactively assist in the management of a portfolio of clients, while reporting to Directors and above
  • Be involved in the financial management of clients
  • Be actively involved in business development activities to help identify and research opportunities on new/existing clients
  • Develop project strategies to solve complex technical challenges for our clients
  • Manage and deliver large projects by developing the project team, assessing engagement risks throughout, driving conclusions, and reviewing / challenging the output produced by the team
  • Shape and deliver projects to meet and exceed the expectations of our clients and our own quality criteria
  • Train, coach, and supervise team members
  • Continue to develop internal relationships and developing your PwC brand

Job Requirements and Preferences:

Preferred Qualifications: 

Preferred Knowledge/Skills: 
Demonstrates intimate knowledge and proven success performing functions that involve the following areas, preferably for an Ethics and Compliance function or within a global consulting partnership: 
- Application of independence rules established by the SEC, AICPA, PCAOB, IFAC specific to services or engagements contemplated or being provided to clients within the professional services industry; and, 
- A consistent consultancy mindset and problem-solving approach to researching problems and/or issues, developing and offering effective solutions for Independence-related business issues.

Demonstrates proven intimate abilities and success in the following areas, preferably within an Ethics and Compliance function or global consulting partnership: 
- Leading, coaching and developing other members of the consultation team; 
- Training staff on matters pertaining to the subject matter specialty; 
- Participating and/or leading special projects; 
- Working closely with and supporting team leaders and members on consultations or projects involving multiple lines of service; 
- Developing and maintaining working relationships with project teams within the various practices and become the focal point of contact for independence questions that may arise; and, 
- Communicating, both orally and in writing with an attention to business writing and grammar, to accomplish the following results- developing, reviewing and drafting policies and procedures pertaining to independence; reviewing and editing internal and external presentations and documents, especially from an independence perspective; and, documenting a position taken in a concise manner.
